Arnzen on a 2-2 count pops up to the 1st baseman in foul territory for the 1st out. Stein at the plate and he tries to squeeze home a run but fails and Radcliff is out 2-5 but the Frosh is able to stay in the pickle long enough for both CovCath runners to advance a base. 2 out men on 2nd and 3rd. Stein then hits a routine ground ball to the HC SS who catches the ball but makes a bad throw to first (E-6t), Stein is safe at 1st and Bir comes home with the 1st CovCath run. Reese up and on the first pitch hits a double to knock in both Schneider and Stein, Best then pop ups 2 for the 3rd out. CovCath 3 runs on 2 hits 1 error 1 lob and 0 earned runs.

Bir walks on a 3-2 pitch. Nienaber PR on first no outs. Schneider sac bunts, one out, man on second. Arnzen who has gone pop out 3 and pop out 4 works Fuller to a 3-1 count, then hits a single and Nienaber comes home with the 5th CovCath run and their first earned run of the game. Stein then hits a deep fly ball to 8 for the 2nd out and Arnzen moves to third. Two outs man on third and Reese up but on a 1-2 count Reese goes 5-3 to end the inning.

Congrats CCH, and good luck to you and Beechwood in the Region. Very good season Holy Cross. The Indians have to find a way to the 1 seed in the regular season. HC generally doesn't fare too well in the 2 vs. 3 seed in the districts vs. either Beechwood or CCH.

I would expect Maile on the mound or maybe they go with Maile (YES I meant to do that).

Tough loss for this HC team. Great season boys and congrats to the seniors on their accomplishments in their career. They hold the record for most wins @ HC last year.

 

If HC had to lose to someone, I'm glad it's this CCH team. A bunch of really classy guys on that team. I know talking to some of the HC players they feel the same way and will be rooting for them in region. BTW this is the first time I saw Severson pitch, and he has a nasty 12-6. The ump was squeezing both teams, and I thought the pitchers did a great job keeping their cool.

Just as I predicted. CCH prevailed. So HC ends up with a 2-4 record in district. CCH is 5-2 and BW is 4-1. Should be a good game tonight!

CAP - We all know Spartan doesn't like Holy Cross. He was just rubbing in the loss a little bit there I think. Never one to give them any credit.

Congrats to Cov Cath and their coaching staff and kids. I'm sure they will represent the 35th district well next week at Champion.

You get credit when credit is earned. I gave you credit last year when you won the district. Just painting a true factual picture. Your team lost more district games than CCH and BW combined.
