cammando
Boehner offered a separate bill for military funding only... Nothing attached.. Obama called it a distraction.. Pretty simple. Spin it any way you like...
Hatz
Our Commander in Chief http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/264176/obama-will-veto-troop-funding-bill-andrew-stiles So you don't think it's possible the GOP leadership is using the Troop Funding issue as a ploy to "get their way?" I could see that. Just like Obama is using his leverage to keep his pet people paid as well. There's enough blame in this whole mess on Capitol Hill right now to want to start a revolution in both directions, not merely one.
cammando
Then why didn't the Dems pass a budget when they were in total control ??

I finally had to tune-out today.

Hatz
It seems the left wants a shutdown and blame it on the GOP... Page 23 in the Bill Clinton playbook from the 90's. It worked pretty well then. Don't know if Obama can pull it off as well as Willie. He doesn't have someone like Newt who falls right into the trap.
Bluegrasscard
Something that is being under reported in this whole thing. The wrangling going on is on for Fiscal 2011. Fiscal 2011 started October 2010. The budget for Fiscal 2011 by law was supposed to be in place by May of 2010. That is when the Democrats controlled both houses and the WH. With control of all 3 branches - they could not get a budget done. The government has been running on stopgaps since last October since the Democratic-controlled house and Senate did not do its job. After they get fiscal 2011 done, then the work will start on fiscal 2012 and that is legally supposed to be done by May 15th of 2011! Background: http://johntreed.com/headline/2010/11/08/democrats-refuse-to-pass-budget-until-after-election-want-vat-2/ http://www.economyincrisis.org/content/where-federal-budget

Every single talk show, news source or website that I have seen discussing this for the last few weeks have all stated what you did. I have yet to hear one source that didn't go into that very debate whether they were what some thought were "Left leaning" or "conservative."
