I know it is April 23 at Berea. Does anyone know who all is playing, who has been invited or any other info about this event? Is it pretty organized? Who is coaching? How is the playing time for the players? Any info is appreciated.

The 10th and 12th region played the 11th and 13th region.

 

This game is dedicated to the memory of Gene Lowe for his many contributions to the 12th and 13th Region basketball as a referee for over 40 years.

 

Here is last years roster:

 

10th Region - Jaylan Daniel and Vinny Zollo, Clark County; Treg Setty, Mason County; Kyle King and Luke King, Deming; Kellen Smith, Scott.

 

11th Region - Ryan Fucci and Marcellus Barksdale, Tates Creek; Taylor Martin, Lexington Catholic; Daniel Kiesling, Henry Clay; Dee Yarborough, Lafayette; James Evans, Bryan Station.

 

12th Region - Gavin Dunagan and Austin Shearer, Wayne County; Clay Cinnamon, Mercer County; Jacody Taylor, Danville; Jacob Dixon, McCreary Central; Jacob Bodner, Boyle County.

 

13th Region - Ben Madon, Bell County; Codi Roberts and Matt Mitchell, Clay County; Cody Likins, North Laurel; Jordan Akins, Whitley County; Travis Cannady, Knox Central.

 

 

They have a slam dunk contest and Jaylan Daniel of GRC won it last year. Zollo had 30 points and Daniel had 28.

Brossart big man Joe Jennings has accepted an invitation to play.

Boyle County point guard Micah Satterly has accepted an invitation to play.

Taylor Barnette of Lexington Christian Academy is a strong possibility. I have no clue of whether he's been invited, etc. The kid doesn't get lots of exposure at LCA (relative to some of the other top players in the 11th), but I would still expect him to be invited.

 

Wes Kimball of Henry Clay will probably be in consideration also.

 

Josh Harris of Scott County & Craig Floyd of Lexington Catholic are two more names that might have a shot.

11/13th regions defeated 10/12th regions 119-98. Tamron Manning was the best player on the court. By far. I'll post more later. Time to eat and there is no 3G in Berea.
