What does Williamsburg need to do to improve in 2011? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Williamsburg has a excellant freshman class, they are moving up from the middle school when they had great success. They should fit in well with the returning vets that Coach Herron will field. The Jackets could make some noise this season.

IMO: will be best in Dist. cannot compete once out of Dist.

Not sure how they will do in District . Will probably start 9-12 positions with Freshman. Last year beat Nicholas Co. by 34. Lost to Fairview by 7, which lost to LCA by 9, which lost to Hazard by 1. I absolutely so NO team next year in region 3 or 4 they can't compete with exception for possible Hazard. The 3 years after that Hazard shoud be a team the can compete with also.

Williamsburg will be young this year and will have to replace allstars in Root, Perkins, Payne and Lowery. But with that being said there is a ton of talent coming up. Logan Hamlin will shine at QB and has increased his size and arm strength. Hoffman, will again be a big play guy, and Jeffers will anchor the line. The other skills will be young but overall team speed will be better. I look for a good season this year, and then after all the freshman gain a year of experience...look out! Williamsburg will be solid for the next 4 years and I expect a state contender in the next 2 to 3 years.

Who are the seniors this coming year for Williamsburg?

Rule 13

By the way, for anyone wondering, their district is Berea, Campbellsville, Lynn Camp, and Williamsburg. The opposite district is Harlan, Hazard, Jenkins, and Pineville.

Hoffman no longer at Williamsburg, he moved to PA

Was told yesterday that Dalton Sizemore had registered at Williamsburg. Is there any truth to this Rumor????

Yes it is true, and he has been declared eligble by the KHSAA,, and has been installed as the starting QB....if you listen to the rumors at Wal-Mart.

Seriously, Williamsburg now has three strong QBs who can hurt you from anywhere on the field, either by running or by throwing.

This IMO puts Williamsburg as one of the top teams in A Football, not only for this year but through 2014. He is one of the best Soph. QB in State, if not the Best. A Great talent. Good Luck to him and his team.

Williamsburg is a year or two away IMO, but Dalton definitely make them a lot better this year...Add freshman transfer Jefferson Patrick from Corbin, Jeff is a player...

Coach Herron does a good job at W'burg. They will continue to be a good football team. It looks as if some of the Corbin kids are looking to other schools. How funny it is with the shoe on the other foot.

I agree, Corbin will feel some of the pain others have felt over the years. These 2 kids will help th Burg.

Williamsburg met up with Knox Central in their grid last night and had to come away feeling pretty good. The first 20 minute half pitted each team's 1's against each other and they went toe to toe. Each team was pretty vanilla on offense, but Williamsburg moved the ball at times well. Freshman Skylar Griffith was a definite bright spot at receiver. Was very pleased with the defensive front 7 as they lined up and were very Physical. The d front of Jeffers, Loy, and Helton matched up well with Knox's front and was able to control the line of scrimmage for the most part and put pretty good pressure on the QB. The young linebacking core of Sawyers, Patrick, Brandon, and Rose played well also. The negatives on d were some missed tackles, and the DB's looked lost occasionally. Overall though the young Jackets were physical and flew around well. The offense sputtered some but should be ok when the whole package is in. The feeling i was left with is both teams have the potential to be very good.
