NCAA Tournament seeding thoughts, ideas, discussion...

Hahahaha They just cut to PTI during one of the commercial breaks, and Wilbon was saying "Czar of College Basketball - Jay Bilas. You'd have a problem with that??"

Are we sure they use the S-curve? Sounds like a myth to me. You could easily argue that Ohio State has the top 2, 3 and 4 seed in their region. How's that for rewarding the top overall seed?

My biggest issue is the inconsistency of it all. Say it out loud if Conference Tournament aren't weighted heavily, but let us know going in. Don't reward certain teams for winning the regular season then losing in the conference tournament and then do the opposite for the next conference. It just simply doesn't make sense.

I couldn't agree more with rating teams 1-68 and let them go at it.

Also, the TV idea is brilliant. If we rate them 1-68 you could literally go down the line and go resume by resume and have some sort of vote for which is better. Talk about drama.

What is the rule about conference teams not playing their own conference teams, in the early rounds? Could that have caused a problem for the selection committee with the Big East getting in 11 teams playing?

Not sure if there is an actual rule or just something they try to avoid. UC and UCONN could meet in round two so if there is a rule, it is that they can't play in round one.

I think the game between Louisville and Morehead will be good to watch, also will be interesting to see the rematch beteen UK and WV.

I have a good friend who is a big WVU fan. His comment, "The only reason we are playing UK is because we beat them last year." And that is so true. It's all about the stories that the media can sell.

Yes, the NCAA selection committee seems to enjoy pitting teams with recent history against each other.

Media can do wonders.

I was listening to Mike & Mike this morning, and Jay Bilas was sitting in for Golic. He was giving predictions for the East region and commented that it was amazing how often Huggins has faced UK in the tournament.

FWIW, he picked UK losing to OSU.
