They may drop a few in the next couple of weeks, but they have too much star power, imo to drop below the #3 spot. I think he is safe. After the season I could see Coach Spoe wanting to spend more time with his family.

March 1, 201115 yr Author Maybe LBJ and Wade just don't fit together? Two guys that are average shooters and need the ball to be effective. People talked about Melo and Amare not fitting together very well, but I've liked what I've seen out of the two of them so far. With Billups I think they win their 4 v. 5 matchup against Orlando, if they can find another big body that gets bought out of their contract. I think Miami has matchup problems with Boston, Chicago and NY in the East because of the point guard play on each team. I think they match up better with LA or Orlando and would give either team fits. Also in the playoffs either a team will be able to slow them down and beat them up, or over the course of a 7 game series LeBron and Wade will find ways to destroy teams. I could really go either way on that, even though Miami's record against good teams is pathetic and actually worse than the Cavs is currently. I don't see a problem with 'Melo and Amare being able to complement each other. They're not nearly as similar as James and Wade are as basketball players. I think the key against Miami is taking care of the basketball and getting back of defense. Limiting TO's and getting back on defense shuts down their fast-break game. Do that, and you're likely going to beat them, IMO. I think Chicago and Boston are the most capable teams of doing that in the East.

I don't think they'd beat either of those teams in 7 games, but I do think the Knicks are a dangerous opponent. It wouldn't be a total shock if they pulled it off. At the least, they could push one of those teams really hard in the opening round.

That's a pretty broad scope. Obviously, I've seen Lebron make plays and score points down the stretch of games. Of course he would, he dominates the ball and he's a great player. However, I've seen him miss quite a few big FT's down the stretch of games, and virtually every shot at the ends of games when it is tied or they trail by 1-3 points. A guy in his position is going to have some success, and he has...his performance to carry the underdog Cavs to the finals was amazing. He hit the big 3 against Orlando a couple years ago to win a playoff game. And, he played a great game 7 to push Boston to the brink the year they won the title. But, even in that Boston game, he missed a very makeable shot from about 3 feet on a drive to the rim late in that game that was huge. Generally, Lebron has not delivered in these moments. I suppose the last 5 minutes are clutch. But, there's a big difference in scoring and making shots from minutes 5-2 when the spread is up to 5 points vs. getting it done with 30 seconds left and the game tied or trailing by 1-3 points. You can throw up those stats all you want. But, stats can be deceiving. What I see, or in Lebron's case, what I "witness", doesn't lie.

Kobe is slightly better in the post season during that time though. I think the biggest reason LBJ dropped some this year is because of Wade.

Admittedly, Lebron plays far more games that I don't watch than vice versa. When I have watched him, I have not been impressed with his ability to make the big shots with the game in the balance. Much more often than not, he simply has not delivered when I've been watching. To be fair, and to show that I'm not being a Lebron hater, I think Kobe presently benefits from his past in this regard. Watching Kobe more recently, I don't think he has delivered in the big spots as much as his reputation warrants. I've seen him struggle (Game 7 last year) and miss some big shots that you expect him to make. He earned his reputation in the past for sure, and I still can't think of a player I'd rather have with the ball in that situation, but I'm not as confident in him as I once was. The year LA lost to Boston, I can remember Kobe draining clutch shot after clutch shot against he Spurs in the Western Finals. To me, that is the biggest slip in Kobe's game. He doesn't seem as money in the clutch as he once was.
March 1, 201115 yr Author Troy Murphy may be looking to take his "limited" talent to South Beach as well... He'll strike fear into the Lakers and Celtics bigs. Gasol and KG have historically struggled against Troy Murphy. I totally made that up. Is everybody going to South Beach?
