Hard to put South above Oldham at this point in a ranking since the Dragons lost to Oldham by 15, but I think the Dragons very well are talented enough to take down the Colonels without it being a major surprise...

 

Oldham, South Oldham, Gallatin, SK, Spencer, North Oldham, Owen Co., and Walton-Verona will all figure into this mix before all is over. There really isn't a clear-cut favorite...the top 8 - maybe the top 9, if Collins starts showing more consistency - can all pull off a win or two in the region against anyone else on the list... And Henry County has beaten Gallatin...

 

Unfortunately, either North Oldham or South Oldham will miss the tourney, as will either Owen County or Gallatin County. Those schools will meet in the first rounds of their respective districts, eliminating two of the region's better teams.

Wow, such brilliant insight. Pretty sure this thread is to discuss 8th Region favorites. Scott Co and Bullitt East reside in the 11th and 6th Regions respectively and really do not belong in this discussion. Shelby County, the "only school" as you described them, has a 4-18 record this season at this point. Move along, nothing to see here.

 

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was tryng to say that when Shelby was one School and Scott co and Bullit East there it was much better as far as quality teams in the talent sense. Yes Oldham and Anderson sometimes made it fun during regional.

Oldam made it fun. I believe the last 15 years coach Gary Forest coached Oldam went to the state more than Scott did when Scott was still in the 8th.
