March 29, 201115 yr I've got several friends that use the Vibrams during the Insanity workouts. One other guy that I know of recently ran a marathon in them. I can't imagine, but that is what he trained with.
March 29, 201115 yr What's the bench routine you are doing? I have had good some results with a pyramid and also a 5x5. I am thinking about trying the 5-3-1 that mexitucky mentioned aboved. These are work for not only bench but all compound lifts. I'll dig up the formula and put it on here. It's on my other laptop. Basically it takes your max then puts you on a program called 50lbs in 50 days. This is my 3rd time doing it in about 15 years and it's always the best results I've had on bench. It's got 5/3/1, it's got 3/2/negative, it also tests you every few workouts to see if you need to move up or down weight wise. Like I said I was around 220 starting off and my next bench has 255 once in it. Probably my all time high was 260 but I haven't really lifted heavy a whole lot.
March 30, 201115 yr I've got several friends that use the Vibrams during the Insanity workouts. One other guy that I know of recently ran a marathon in them. I can't imagine, but that is what he trained with. I've been reading alot about minimalists, vibrams being the most extreme, and it all makes sense. Anyone I've ever talked to that ran in them said its the only way to go. It forces you to run like nature designed. If you run with normal running shoes most people will heel strike or close to it. Run bare foot and you will run on the balls of your feet. You can teach yourself to do it with regular shoes but it takes some practice.
March 30, 201115 yr Yoga, by FAR, is the worst part of P90X. It is a great workout, but very, very humbling. I'm sticking with Wendler's 5-3-1 workout. I've tried everything crazy and get burnt out about 5 weeks in. I've been sticking w/ his bodybuilding schedule and feel awesome. Lift M,T,R,F and then sprint on M and Sat, Jump on T, W. I lost 13 lbs b/n beginning of Jan. and end of Feb. and only one pound was muscle. I'm down to 213 now and plan on being a very fit 205 come the end of May. I've been researching Wendler's 5-3-1 and decided to start it week after next. We go to Destin next week and when I get back I am going to start. It is very similar to Bill Star's 5x5 but sounds like a better program. Plus it seems like it will fit perfect with my schedule. I currently lift M T R F and the 5-3-1 fits perfectly with that. It is also a fairly quick routine which I like. I only get about 45 mins in the gym to do what I got to do and this looks like it will easily work.
