Ryle vs Boone County Predictions Friday 2/4 at Ryle

Featured Replies

By the schedule now shed have to sit out Holmes and Ryle however they could add a game or move another game up on the schedule so Ryle would be the third game. A lot of coaches do that if its a big game.

I hope this happens.

Good news for this game. Looks like Boone will be at full strength after all. A game vs. Campbell Co. has been added prior to the Ryle game. This is a makeup game that was canceled due to weather a few weeks ago.

No surprise.

Great news! Way to go Nell and thanks to Campbell Co. I really wanted to see this game played with both teams having everybody available and it looks like I will get my wish. If Nell is back on the bench, I will stick with my prediction of Boone by 10.

I'm getting to sense a trend on here. I don't want to hear any whining if Boone loses and Nell isn't able to coach. A win is a win and a loss is a loss. No excuses.

No trend here. Just stating the obvious. Ryle had a team last year to compete at state and didn't make it. They have the most talented players around and should compete for a state championship this year and next year, but talent alone will only win you games you are suppose to win. There is absolutely no reason this team cannot win the state tournament this year or next year. IMO the only reason they would not is because they don't have a great coach. I would love to see the northern Kentucky teams make a lot of noise down state.

Where was that attitude last year? I seem to recall some whining when a key player from Ryle was sooo jacked up she couldn't stop fouling and spent some time on the bench...all I remember was "if we had her we would've - could've - should've".

The Lady Raiders already have doubt. The stars are aligned (home floor - their best team in history) so they better get it done on Friday. All they need is your confidence :)

I haven't seen them play, but please tell me they don't still sit in a zone all night with all those athletes?

Don't know what defense they are planning to play, I do know Crittendon won't be guarding Moss. We've got plenty of talented ladies the have plenty of fouls to give. Let's give this some thought: Take Moss and Crittendon out of the equation for the moment, what is Boone going to do with Cheeseman, Oliverio, Jump, Johnson, Douthit and Meyer?

Same thing they would do with Moss and Crittendon in the equation.

Okay, let's try and put this in perspective. I get it, the coaching advantage goes to Boone. They have a Hall of Fame Coach that probably is the best coach in NKY history. She is a class act all the way, so when does she not have the coaching advantage? It is a shame that the BC faithful continue to bash Coach O on here. She has influenced many female student athletes at BC in both basketball and softball. In only three years, the Ryle Coaching Staff has put together a pretty solid program. Also, how often in NKY history has two top ten teams ranked in the state matched up from the same district? (and in all likelihood a few more times this year) On Friday night in Union you will see two really good teams and two really good coaching staffs battling it out. It does not get much better. Good luck to both teams.

Never doubted which team was more talented from top to bottom...as a coach, I'd say "Moss will get her double-double so I make someone else beat me". Playing a zone is nuts, IMO. It allows the opponent to stay rested and out of foul trouble. Plus, it will take the pressure off a very young PG. So it will be interesting to see what coach O decides to do.

I don't think it's Boone County bashing Coach Oliviero, I believe it's her own Ryle fans. Coach Fookes has mentored Coach Olivero since college days and they are good friends off the court. Good Luck to both teams Friday night. It should be fun for everyone; coaches, players and fans!

(side note: Sydney Moss is in ESPN Magazine, this month on stands now, with a full page photo, and she'll be on the COVER of ESPN Rise Magazine in their next edition. Congrats Sydney)

I do not think that bcrebeldad, kyrebel and crunch time are raider fans. And i was not implying that Fookes and Oliverio dislike each other. I assume there is mutual respect there. I just do not care for the subtle shots taken at the Raider coach.

Just remember what you've said. When she's there and Boone wins no excuses for Ryle.

I'm not bashing Coach O, I'm just saying the I believe that Boone has the coaching advantage and that will play a big role in this game. Also, I think that the psychological advantage goes to Boone because I don't believe that Ryle has beaten them since Feb. 5, 2008. Should be a great game and I wish both teams the best of luck.

I'm not taking subtle shots at no one. Just stating the facts. While were on the facts lets just go ahead and say the coach O took the job at the right time. She know exactly what kind of talent was getting ready to run through there. Any coach could have taken over at the same time and looked like a great coach, that is fact. Lets face it if Moss were still there this would not even be a game. I think coach Cheeseman is the best coach Ryle has in their program. I really don't care who wins the game. It should be another great game. I believe Ryle should win. But never count Boone out with coach Fookes. Good Luck to both teams!

100% Boone fan. I'm not sure I "took a shot" at coach "O" unless stating "she'll be less intimidated if Fookes is not on the sidelines" is what you consider a shot. If so, it's an opinion and I won't back-off of it. We have a Raider fan on here that took a bigger shot at one of the BC coaches, but it's an opinion so it is what it is. At least I was subtle ;)
