Ryle vs Boone County Predictions Friday 2/4 at Ryle

Dean is more than capable of coaching the team. The only thing that will change is the sidelines will be quiet with less foot stomping and screaching...and of course, Olivero will be less intimidated.

If Ryle can't beat Boone at home without their coach...it will certainly take some of the luster out of the rematch(s).

Mrs. I mean Mr. Fookes wil do just fine:)

P.S. I really hope coach Fookes can be their Friday, I want Boone at full strength.

Not nice Shock!
I'm sorry, but no love lost there.

By the way, I saw where the 9th Region drew the 1st Region on Thursday in the 1st round of the Girl's Sweet Sixteen.

Without Nell it will be a closer game.

Is Nell out for certain? Would it be possible for her to appeal and coach while the appeal is pending?

I have no idea for sure. So far, I think we've ran with the rules comment from one poster on here. I've heard three things 1) no additional penalty 2) 1 additional game 3) 2 additional games...I also haven't heard about an appeals rule in HS. I guess we'll know soon enough.

This from the KHSAA website:

The suspended coach may not participate in another contest at

that level (JV, Freshman, Varsity, etc.) until being reinstated by a

member of the Commission. Following review, the Commission

may extend the suspension.

For all coach ejections, the penalty shall be a minimum of two

game/meet/contests. For all adults sitting out in an individual

sport such as swimming, track or wrestling due to suspension,

the penalty shall be for the entire meet schedule, not for a

single event.

If the ejection was during one of the two preseason scrimmages,

the penalty shall be served during the first regular season

contests.

Any ejected coach or adult team representative shall have seven

(7) calendar days from the date of ejection to complete the STAR

Sportsmanship program. Coaches or adult team representative

failing to complete the program within this time frame shall be

suspended for, at minimum, the next contest after the lapse

of the seven (7) day period, and for all subsequent contests

through the completion of the course.

I think more than a 1 game suspension for a questionable rejection is way too haesh!

By the schedule now shed have to sit out Holmes and Ryle however they could add a game or move another game up on the schedule so Ryle would be the third game. A lot of coaches do that if its a big game.

If Nell is there it will be a close game. Ryle has more talent from top to bottom without question, but Boone has a much better coach.

I'm getting to sense a trend on here. I don't want to hear any whining if Boone loses and Nell isn't able to coach. A win is a win and a loss is a loss. No excuses.

Good news for this game. Looks like Boone will be at full strength after all. A game vs. Campbell Co. has been added prior to the Ryle game. This is a makeup game that was canceled due to weather a few weeks ago.
