What a difference a week makes. The posts prior to the Cov. Cath. v. Holmes games included predictions that the Bulldogs would "upset" the Colonels. Cov. Cath. stumbled out of the gate against Holmes and played catch up until midway through the 3rd quarter. The game went back and forth with Holmes pulling out the victory. The Colonels played New. Cath. 2 days later and were routed. The next night the Colonels played a not all together inspired game against Cooper and were lucky to hold on for the win. Although the Colonels bounced back with impressive victories after losses to Lex. Cath. & Ballard, I think GRC is going to cruise to a comfortable win. The Colonels need to do a much better job defensively and on the boards. They have been giving up many easy baskets. It will be interesting to see how Cov. Cath. responds to a couple of mid-January blows to the chops.

Hopefully the Colonels by now have grown tired of playing mediocre ball and get back to what they do best by playing great team ball with the two BIGS dominating. Baker has shown us what he's capable of. Would love to see him find the edge again and become more of a noticeable factor. Win or lose, you gotta believe that the Colonels realize that now is the time fight hard to distance themselves from this recent lapse. They've got what it takes and need to make a good showing in the Toyota Classic to regain the confidence to lift them back up as valid contenders in the 9th. When they had doubters, they played like they had something to prove. Once the doubters dwindled they settled for average ball. They need to get back to playing again with something to prove and stay there. I had a crazy dream last night that CovCath was facing Ballard in the finals of the Sweet 16, but I woke with the score tied at 11. Yea, that may sound crazy, but I don't think it's too far fetched for the Colonels to get back to proving that they are worthy of a top 20 ranking that they let slip away. It's time for them to get serious and play with a fire in their belly once again and silence the doubters while proving something to themselves.

Covington Catholic does not have school today. Clark does , but look for us to be sent home early. Scott co is also not having school today.With the weather forcast, look for this game to be postponed.

This will be an interesting game with a possible Rogers and Thelan matchup, however, I will take Rogers in this battle by a lot, IMO. Clark wins easy.
