December 26, 201015 yr That's stupid of them... Sometimes you have to take the kid who is a sure thing to come. I mean they were in good shape with Ledo, but with so many others in on his services in good shape as well you can't pull the Tubby/Gillespie and put all of your eggs in one basket. Would they much rather have Ledo, absolutely, but sometimes when a kids ready to commit you have to take them because there is never such thing as a sure thing in recruiting. A Negus Webster Chan is better than nothing, and if Ricky P didn't welcome his commit he ran the risk of losing both. Hes got Blackshear coming in next season, so if he sticks around they should be okay, Webster Chan can come in and add depth on the wing and not be expected to do as much (depending on whether or not Blackshear A.) gets on campus and B.) stays more than one season).
