Dixie 59 Conner 55

Wow guess Conner is not that good.

You are sadly mistaken. Conner is a very good team, but so is Dixie. Someone had to loose that game. It was a very well played game by two of the top teams in NKY.

Good game to watch. Fun opener. Big crowd which was nice to see.

Pike played and did a nice job. Played under control - not too many silly fouls.

Hassell looked really good.

Hatton looked good.

The surprise for me was the play of Muntis off the bench. Great minutes and a great asset to a short-handed Dixie team. Dixie essentially has 6 players.

Dixie did a great job of making passing difficult for Conner. Lots of deflections. Lots of turnovers.

Really glad to see Trammell back. Solid PG and allows Hatton to play the 2.

Pike did indeed play. Well fought game on both sides. Conner turned the ball over a few too many times but continued to battle back and keep it close. Dixie is a very well rounded team that will be near the top of the 9th all year. Will these two teams meet again later in the season?

Call me old. Call me old school but....

WAY TOO MUCH smiling and laughing between the two teams DURING the heat of the battle. I know they know each other. I know they play AAU together but when the ball goes up it's time to treat them as the enemy. I was friends with dudes from other schools but we weren't friends on the field of play.

Coach Chevy told me before the season started that although his team was ranked #3, he still felt his team was the team to beat in the 9th.

Congrats to Dixie on the W.

Heard Hodges had a nice dunk in the game and that both he and Pike looked good. Dixie is really going to benefit with Trammell running the show this year. He won't put up big numbers every night, but he'll be a guy that night in and night out is in double figures scoring and close to double digits in assists.

Congrats Colonels. Nice opener for both teams...fun game to watch.

Dixie has a lot of scorers on this years team....they will be tough to defend.

Hatton, Trammel, and Hassel all played extremely well in the guard slots.

Pike played very well for just coming over from football. Thought he might be more rusty...made a big difference tonight.

Stansberry had an uncharistic shooting night but I expect him to light it up this season.

Muntis looks quicker this year and had some really nice rebounds and loose ball/steals.

Harris gave them some good minutes off the bench.

Cohorn was out on the floor some...coming over from football, I expect he will see more time as the year goes on.

Stansberry is still suffering from an injured thumb. Wasn't serious enough to need surgery but I'd expect him to struggle the first few weeks until he fully recovers from it.

Balanced scoring for both teams will pay divedends down the road. Dixie executed extremely well in this game. It was very fun to watch. I look for Conner and Dixie to be very successful this year. Conner will continue to improve over the next couple of weeks as they will get Carter Byrns back from injury. He adds more depth to their guard position and his abilty to fill it up consistently from outside will come in handy.

I agree....both teams looked very good for the first game of the year. Conner certainly has the ammunition to have an exceptional year.

I thought Robinson was out of the game too much...he hit some big shots from the outside.

Congrats to Coach Chevy and the guys!
