Pretty lopsided game, could have been much worse. Camels to much for the Trains tonight.

How did Campbell Co. look tonight?

Maybe Coach Ray Kues had the right idea when he was the girls coach at Silver Grove and his team was down - he didn't schedule the district opponents and only played Calvary Christian for what was normally the 4th and 5th seeds. He conceded the Campbell, Scott, and Brossart games (without taking the thumpings or the losses on his record) and filled his schedule with more viable Division III opponents.

 

Silver Grove, defeated soundly tonight by Campbell County, plays Bracken County on Tuesday, and Brossart on Wednesday (regardless of what the Riherds schedule shows).

A pretty ambitious first three days of the new season for the Trains.

Kind of hard to say. They have a lot of fire power and speed. They attack the basket. Their big guy played well. Hard to gauge much by tonight.

Mustang and Coach Kues make a great point. What is the point in playing the Campbell Co's, Scott's and Brossart's of the world?? Would it not be better served to play teams that Silver Grove could compete with and not shatter the teams confidenence this early in the season?? You can try to justify this any way you want if you are Silver Grove Administartion, but playing Calvary for the last seed makes much better sense. Play teams that these kids can compete with and build the confidence that, just maybe come district tourney time a better game may be played.

 

This is not to discredit the heart and courage of the kids, but lets just admit that the talent level at this time for Silver Grove is not ready to compete with the above named schools.

Agreed, nothing you can do when you have 15 kids in each respective class and that includes girls. So you have maybe 70 kids in the entire High School and your supposed to field teams that compete with the CC's and Scott's. No way, every once in a while you will get the McCarters or Pelle's but consistently this school should be playing the Augusta's, Calvary's, etc.

That's all they have? I didn't realize that Silver Grove's High School enrollment was that small.

Just about what I figured. Campbell has a nice team this year and the Grove only shows 12 total kids on the roster and 3 of them are frosh. C J ,from the prediction post, never doubt the TAC when it comes to my most favorite time of the year.:laugh:
