November 12, 201015 yr I'm with Hammertime, I think Smith was starting to get adjusted to the NFL game. Maybe he'll end up being a bust but he has come along way since last year or even the beginning of this season. Again. You're NUMBER 1 pick should not have to come a long way to be able to play effectively. Maybe this is what the Bengals don't understand when in the draft room.

If he would have been healthy all this time and still performed like he did I can understand but he hasn't.

I honestly don't think the guy has the work ethic much less the physical tools to be an outstanding O Lineman worthy of a #1 pick and the salary that comes with that.jmo This is similar to Perry. Do you not rate him as a bust? Or Kenny Irons, or Kijana Carter, or wow, could go on forever here. Just sayin
November 12, 201015 yr Kenny Irons, as a draft pick, was a bust. But it's hard to label Kenny Irons the football player a bust. When you blow out your knee, you're done... Did Irons blow his out twice or am I imagining things? Regardless, Irons was a poor choice to begin with.

November 13, 201015 yr No Roland is terrible, Smith did a decent job when he was in. He has his bad moments of course but overall he did OK. I wouldn't even say he did ok. Compared to what we seen from Roland then yes he did ok, because Roland is just awful. However when it comes to pass blocking he is pretty bad himself. However anything is better than what Roland was doing this year.

Rudi Johnson was hitting that runningback wall, and Perry was always hurt. We needed a runningback at the time, and he was a pretty good one.

I said this in another thread, I think one day he will be a guard. He reminds me a lot of Gallery, and Leonard Davis. Two guys who dominated college, and were top 5 picks but sucked at tackle in the NFL. However are doing pretty decent now at guard.
