If they can get Webb why not trade Cueto? He'll be getting a raise at some point and he has good trade value. I don't think they'll give up on Bailey and they can't get as much for Volquez as they can for Cueto IMO.

I think Chapman has to be moved back into a starting role and you hope he or Volquez is the 1 while the other is the 2 eventually. Webb being local and coming off some injuries would be a very nice addition IMO. I wouldn't just get rid of Cueto or anyone for that matter. There is nobody on the staff that I wouldn't trade though for a good bat.

Aren't you one of those that said they needed a top of the line starter for the playoffs? Cueto is the closest thing they have to that right now...and you want to trade him? Makes sense...

Bailey hasn't proven anything as a starter and neither has Chapman. You just don't go trading away your best SP when you have those question marks. You trade the guys with the potential (Bailey). A team like Cincy has to develop a top of the line starter. They won't get them through trade or FA. That's what they've done with Cueto and will hopefully do with Chapman. If they trade anyone, it'll be Homer (or Arroyo).

How can you say that Cueto has less of a chance to be a #1 than Bailey? They are both 24 years old but Cueto has pushed his innings up to near the 200 inning mark and lowered his ERA to 3.64. Bailey has yet to throw more than 113 innings and produce an ERA under 4.00. Your logic doesn't make sense to me. Look at their comparative numbers over the last 3 years. I think Cueto has more trade value and Bailey has as much potential therefore I would trade Cueto. They have plenty of number 4 starters and no good options in LF or SS. Decent guys sure, but not good. I wouldn't trade Cueto just to do it, but if I were going to trade one I'd do it before Webb signs elsewhere.

November 23, 201015 yr I've always been a fan of Webb's and would love for the Red's to get him. Same here 2HC, I have always said that with his stuff (mostly sinker, ground ball pitcher) that he would be a great pitcher for GABP/ the Reds to get. I would take the Cards picking him up. November 28, 201015 yr Author Well the Reds and Webb aren't going to happen. It is looking awfully strong for Webb to the Cubs though.
