Colin Cowherd on John Wall

I didn't hear his comments yesterday but read them and the one that caught my attention was the one about him not being smart.

I listened to him today and it's not what I read yesterday. He doesn't like him as a PG on a team he would have. Says he plays too fast and doesn't have a great NBA PG IQ. It's a style thing. Said the same thing about Derrick Rose. He's old school as he likes Stockton.

So it's probably been blown up to be more than it should be - sort of like the Reds thing.

His comments from yesterday are at the bottom of the page that I linked in my 1st post. Listen to them & then let me know if you think it's still being blown up.

I always liked Colin and will continue to like him even though I don't agree with what he said about Wall. I could see where he could make such an argument, but for the people who got to see Wall as much as say Kentucky fans, they know a lot of the stuff he said isn't casting the correct light on his personality and persona. But I agree with HT, The Herd is usually pretty good, he normally knows what hes talking about.

I like listening to him on ESPN Radio and he is usually very unbiased and is pretty spot on when it comes to sports but I agree with everyone else in that he is dead wrong on this.

Just listened to it. The "not a sharp guy" comments were not as he presented them this morning.

I think Wall should get the Bulldog from WLW to sue Cowherd for Slander!!!! :D

Bulldog is too busy suing other attorneys for slander against him.

I was just reading about Deters suits and that made me think of it when I read about Colin/Wall - - One thing I have to say about the Deters - he is persistent!

I listen to his show every day, he don't care to ruffle feathers. He also knows how not to lose listeners, like saying today that Wall is just not his type of PG. Yesterday he was comparing him to Stevie Franchise and today to Derrick Rose, big difference in my eyes.

Cowherd isn't an idiot like some people like to think. He knows EXACTLY what he is doing and it is obviously working for him. People are listening to him and talking about him and that's all that matters. It doesn't matter why people are listening as long as they are.

His statements are idiotic, but he absolutely does it intentionally. He says something to get people riled up, then calls everyone who disagrees a moron. Unfortunately people buy it and keep listening/calling.

I only ever listened to him because it was the only sports show on the radio when I go to lunch. I'm listening to something else from now on though. Hopefully enough other people will do the same so that he gets yanked.

Oh, and just for fun somebody should send Colin the assist stats from UK.

Wall's 241 (as a Frosh) to Rondo's 167 (as a Soph). Wall also has the single game assist record (as well as being tied for #3).

Never been a big fan of Cowherd.

I agree he has a very annoying voice. His voice sounds like a cracking junior higher. He is one of the worst if not worst.

Gottlieb, who is filling in for SVP, is ripping Colin right now. Saying Colin doesn't watch enough college hoops. He says he loves Colin, but he is wrong this time.

Doug Gotlieb is pointing out that Colin is wrong on this one on the SVP Show right now. A few of the points...

Nash, Kidd, Stockton - No titles.

Rondo - 6 ppg, 4 apg as a rookie.

If Colin paid attention to college basketball, he'd know that John Wall won about 9 games by himself.

The Herd is my favorite show on ESPN, so I like Colin. They guy gives his opinion, plain and simple, and I agree with much of what he thinks. This would just fall into the category of things I disagree on. Wall has never seemed like a "me first" player, nor have I heard anyone else ever say that.

I'm guessing one of two things happened (or maybe a combination of both)...

1. The dancing irritated Colin and he's making a judgment based on very limited knowledge about Wall.

2. He knows he can generate a lot of reaction with comments about a guy of Wall's status. I'd be surprised if Cowherd was ignorant of the response this would bring from UK fans prior to making the comments. I'm almost certain he knew.

So, maybe it was one or the other, or a little of both in this case.

He's still the best guy to listen on ESPN Radio, IMO. I don't see the big deal. He gave an opinion that many people disagree with. It isn't the first time, nor will it be the last.

Looks like Big Slick got it posted before me. :thumb:

Didn't hear it, but over at KSR they're claiming Cowherd today took shots at Wall by taking shots at Wall's deceased father....If that is indeed what happened, it's disgusting.
