Bracken County 40 Gallatin County 24

Congrats to the Polar Bears on what I believe is their first district win. I know that they have struggled over the past few seasons, but it seems good things are ahead. I believe that the win puts them at 3rd place in the district.

TB&G, it appears Bracken, Gallatin, and Trimble are tied for third. Quick calculations looks like Bracken County should be third, Gallatin County fourth, and Trimble County on the outside looking in. Gallatin County doesn't have any points from their win over Atherton, but should get the fourth spot on the basis of their head-to-head victory over Trimble County. Is that how you have it?

I don't think Bracken has any points either. Only other win is an out of state team.

Congrats to the Polar Bears.........

Congrats to my friends to the west on the district win. The Polar Bear program has struggled mightily over the past few seasons; I know this had to be a big win for them.

Here's my interpretation of tie breaker: page 77 of handbook.

3 way tie with all three beating each other: Bracken over Gallatin; Trimble over Bracken; Gallatin over Trimble;=goes to points of non-common opponents.

Trimble has no other win and plays Frankfort next week...unlikely upset so based on that, counting Trimble out of playoffs.

Gallatin beat Atherton but Atherton has no wins so 1 point only...BUT...Atherton plays Iroquois next week and COULD be a win. Gallatin plays Henry next week; unlikely upset.

possible Gallatin=2points

Bracken beat Manchester, OH and they have one win(fayetteville perry) so 2 points to Bracken. As of today; Bracken third and Gallatin fourth.

However: if Manchester loses to Batavia next week leaving Bracken at 2 points AND Atherton beats Iroquois giving Gallatin two points=decision goes to KHSAA for third and fourth place.

(don't hold me to that, my interpretation only)

NOTE: Batavia has only one win so Manchester COULD give Bracken a 3rd point givng them third place outright and Gallatin fourth.

INTERESTING NOTE: If I'm correct(again, don't count on that) and Gallatin finds a way to be third...rematch with W-V in first round of playoffs. 1 POINT OVERTIME WIN FOR W-V in game 1.

Now, experts; is any of this correct???

oops, already found one error, Trimble beaten by Frankfort last night and season is done.

gc, as a Trimble County fan, I'm not entirely sure of how the playoff berths will end up. There was a great deal of discussion on it at our game last night. I just wanted to congratulate Bracken Co, as I know that they have struggled and have been making improvements. It's good to see those kids being successful.

Congratulations to the Bears on what to me is their first victory in 5-6 years, I just can't count 2 wins over a beginning Manchester, Ohio JV team as victories over the last 6 years. This was an absolute victory over a district opponent that has beaten them well in the past. Don't think any of the above discussion matters a whole lot, other than the idea of playing a playoff game, because whoever any of these teams play will play a top A team in the first round. I think more of the conversation for BC is after losing this years crop of seniors, do they have even enough to field a team for next season, with limited numbers in the freshman-junior classes and having to deal with the athletes of Eminence,Frankfort and Paris in their next district. Will it be football, soccer, both or none next season for the Polar Bears?

Congrats to Bracken County on the win! It looks like they will be making a trip to the the Bearcat Den in Verona.
