How will Highlands fill out their schedule in 2011?

Featured Replies

papa, you are not being fair to Ryle, the home and home is win-win for the Raiders and Birds.

I will say with that district schedule the Birds will need to find some quality teams to polish their game.

In a way, I was being very respectful to Ryle, as they have shown that they are more than willing to play the Birds.

And yes, in what looks to be something of a watered-down district (if it plays out that way), they want to be tested in the other five games for sure.

With the new coach at NCC? Maybe? The crowd and the pay day for that game would be huge for both schools.

Agreed. But this would not be the yr to schedule Highlands. I guess one would have to start somewhere but my godness, not next yr.

I would be shocked if NCC agreed to a game with Highlands, new regime notwithstanding.

Look, I for one think that Coach Eviston would schedule the Birds if he had the horses (no pun intended) to compete but lets give this guy a chance. This coach is 5 whole game old and is moving the Breds into the right direction. My guess is a matchup between these two teams would have had a very similar outcome of the Beechwood game. Give him some time (yrs) and he will be comfortable putting his guys up against the Birds. My predition is 4-5 yrs and this game will be on. We will see. Go Birds 20n10

Unless some schools are given permission to play out of class, it's probably gonna be the following teams in the 4A district:

Highlands

Holmes

Cooper

Harrison County

Pendleton County

Covington Catholic

Man o Man, that's a lot of 35-0 halftime scores. Hope they keep Ryle and add an Ohio team.

Ryle

Harrison co

PC

Holmes

Dixie

Cov Cath

Lou. Central

LaSalle

Simon Kenton

Cooper

This would be a decent schedule.

Play Fort Campbell at the army post - great experience for both teams. Also the Falcons have new top notch turf field, support the military and play Fort Campbell.
