I know that they were banging some in practice this week, more than a usual playoff week. Whatever it was it will work I feel. There are many motivational factors all brewed into one for this week. I am fired up about the game sitting here Iam sure the Tigers will be tough to tame tonight. The Trenches, The Fort and St. Manual. It will be a great pregame speech.

"revenge" was never Glaser's word in the article. His word, in quotes is "redemption". What he means by this, for those who have not read it, is that we played bad last game vs. Manual, they "manhandled" us, and we now have a chance to redeem ourselves.

How dare another team play physical football, I guess.

 

I do think that Glaser was kind of grasping at straws on this one. If they don't have enough to be excited about, then I don't know what.

 

I wonder if the St. X players are aware that X is the school that agreed to let Manual have the home team amenities? Or are they being told that Manual usurped their rightful spot?

Being usurped of their rightful spot does not have to be looked at as a lie - if you look at it that X is the team that has rights to the home field advantages, then they were usurped them. Even if it was Glaser's doing, they were still taken away.

Pure semantics perhaps at their very best.

Even if St. X offered it to Manual, since it is their stadium; and since we are just temporary squaters on their field, why didn't they respectfully decline the offer?

 

Maybe it would have given the Crimsons just enough of an uncomfortable feeling that would have fired them up to not ever let it happen to them again! If they still get the home locker room, the home side of the field and the felling that its their home field anyway, what do they have to play for?

It's not like X 'offered' out of the goodness of their heart.

 

Manual offered, I imagined. It was a DEAL. For MONEY. St. X wanted to keep their MONEY. It was more important to them, and now Glaser gets to pretend that Manual forced it, and St. X didn't get have to spend any rent MONEY.

 

I imagine that the Manual players will be fired up that they get one last shot to make a good memory in THEIR house. X players won't be thinking that tonight. They "know" they get one more game, against a team they respect enough that they don't have to lie to get excited about. But the Manual guys? They know this is it. This is the last time they step on that field as players. That's worth more than any sort of 'uncomfortable' feeling that doesn't do anything for these seniors.

 

So, yes, it seems a little unnecessary. Unnecessary to try and make it something it isn't. But, whatever man. Whatever.
