And there you go. That is absolutely why the FTJFL is one of the top feeder programs around.

The Spartans are one of the biggest jokes around at the junior youth level, no championship to play for and they still will not play some of the kids. I hope the coach has a winning season, they are a class act.

Actually there are several from Ft. Mitchell that play in the league. Like Henry said, it's open to anyone as long as there is room. Wonder why the FTJFL is getting so many from there? Why aren't they playing for the Spartans?

 

I always get a kick out of the preseason camp when all of the kids are brought together some 300 plus and Dale gives his speech. Always fun to look around and see some of the expressions on some of those "should be" Spartan players' parents. LOL. It is hilarious. Trust me. Go Birds 20n10

And no disrepect to those brave parents and kids to come over to the other side when most of us know who the Kentonites are. I give them my support anytime I see them and especially acknowledge the kids and make them feel welcome. Probably, because its only about the kids at this early developmental stage and at Highlands. I am just joking about the intimidation thingy. Thats not Dales nor the FTJFL style. Total professionals without question. Go Birds 20n10

On a different scale, i will never forget after our first freshman practice at Trinity, when Coach Lampley came and addressed us freshman. He said to look around, (there were 100+ of us), he said we'd be lucky to finish with 30 kids (as seniors). Be it, work, kicked out of school, not making grades, etc.....we "finished" with 32 seniors. It makes for something very special, and friends for life. How many programs in the Commonwealth can say that?

Mitchell, others from Southgate, Newport, Alexandria, etc. Its been very nice seeing the mix of kids and how much they all enjoy it. In fact we have a couple of really good 3rd graders who have earned some playing time during the 4th qtr where its up to the coaches discretion. Great league but there are some things that could be fixed like all leagues.

Your right, its a great league and nothing negative should be said about it, that wasnt my intention. A minor issue with the running clock is all it was.
