An Alternative View of Immigration

Featured Replies

So, the author thinks illegal immigration is a good thing?

If you want to know what he thinks, ask him. I'm sure there is an email link somewhere on the site.

Ouch.
Who on here has a problem with legal immigration? Isn't that what the article is about, legal immigration?

Not me, nor ANYONE I've ever talked to. Bring em in!

If you want to look at it from such a simplistic sense, go for it.

"Simplistic" has gotten me where I am today so I think I will stick with it.

Simplistic thinking is what made the Social Security Act under 100 pages, as was The Civil Rights Act, 19th Amendment, Emancipation Proclamation, and my favorites, The Declaration of Independence, and The Constitution.

Your "I'm so smart so I'm going to load it with BS" thinking is what made the recent laws thousands upon thousands of pages.

Is that simplistic enough for you?

You've never met anyone that has a problem with LEGAL immigrants? You are lucky. I have. They don't appreciate anyone that has a different skintone, accent or religion, whether they came here legally yesterday or thirty years ago. Not my favorite crowd to hang around with, to say the least.

Very interesting article. I'd say that it lends credibility to the idea of creating a "guest worker" designation...that evidently only myself and GWB likes. :D
I have no problem with that, either ... one of the few issues where W and I actually found some common ground.

Well spoken, sir! :thumb:
