September 6, 201016 yr He's a great pitcher. Why do you say that? Because it's hard for a pitcher to back up that kind of statement when it's not really in your hands. He can pitch a great game and still lose if the offense doesn't back him up. I just believe it's a statement that he shouldn't have made because 1 loss and it's makes your statement look stupid.

A lot of great pitchers have had records and it not having anything to do with them. He faces these teams the rest of the way; Braves, Cubs (twice), Padres, Rockies. I don't see him beating the Braves, or the Rockies. The way the Padres are playing I guess he could beat them and the Cubs you never know. Like I said though, making that kind of statement puts a lot of pressure on your defense and offense to back you up to make make that statement the truth. I still believe he should have said something else rather than make that bold of a prediction.

Maybe "lucky" wasn't the right choice of word for what I meant to say but I'm not saying he isn't a great pitcher, as I have repeatedly said he was, but by making that statement he puts a lot of pressure on his defense and offense to back him up. I just think it's a statement a pitcher shouldn't make.

Does St Louis get another arm? Do the Reds get a legit 1 and/or another bat. I have a feeling next year won't have a 7 game division leader with 20 or so to play.
