Hey at least Ashland did not have to give the Rams a win and $5000 this year like the last few years.

Farley look scared and the receivers did not help either with the drop balls. Like I have said the receivers make the quarterback look great or awful. This team is going to rely on the short pass and a good team will hurt them every time.

 

I'll agree that the dropped balls didn't help matters, but i seriously doubt Farley was scared. If throwing for 118 yards in the first quarter is playing scared, then i hope he's terrified every time he plays.

Also, the short pass was open most of the game....I'll take a 7-8 yard slant route & stick route all night if they give it to me. Bottom line in this one was the Ram's mistakes, & Ashland being very good & very talented.

Frankly, I thought Farley played well. He has 100yds of passes dropped. Not on him. Of the two qbs last night, I would have to say that as a passer, Farley was as good as Hunter if not marginally better. I'm sure that won't be overly popular among some. However, when you tuck it under the wing and take off, Sam is as good as I've seen at that for awhile.

 

Just some others who stood out to me. For Raceland, Caudill was solid from his linebacking position, especially early. For Ashland, I thought that Bush played very well, very solid in run support.

 

And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Massey. He's always a seem from taking it to the house. Very exciting to watch.

What meant was if you get any pressure on him he will panic and throw the ball where ever.I have seen him do it to many times. He locks on one receiver to much seems like he should be able to look at the entire field by now. The 7-8 yd slants will work agaist teams that are weaker than Raceland but they will only get you so far teams like Ashland, LCA and I think maybe Greenup this year you are not going to do alot after the catch.

Well, from what I've seen thus far Tyler has gotten alot better about not locking in on just one receiver, but this was the first solid competition he's faced this year (no disrespect to Boyd Co), & he did rush some throws at times. I think a key for this team will be if they can establish the run game to a degree, so they can have a little balance. Also, the Rams coaching staff will always have a good game plan for them to have a chance to win, so Raceland needs to take whatever the defense gives them, & not have alot of three & outs or turnovers.

I have noticed that parents and casual fans normally post differently on here. And, sometimes you can tell when a disgruntled parent is looking negatively on a program. Just an observation.

 

Congratulations to Ashland, I really expected a better showing by Raceland. It's looking better for my dogs.

Congratulations to the Tomcats. I felt that for about the first 18 minutes (game time), we looked fantastic. However, Ashland is far superior to our Rams but I was pleasantly suprised at how we reacted to adversity. Our boys continued to play hard and clean. Sometimes, 15-18 year olds get frustrated and lose their heads but our's kept their mouths shut and played between the whistle. We will bounce back and improve from this. I guarantee, playing 4A and 5A schools, especially games against Ashland and Greenup, will make us better come District play. Good luck to the Tomcats the rest of the way.

Doc: You are spot on. The Rams will only benefit from the experience of playing up several classes - come the real season (district & play offs). The Rams continue to run a classy and proud program. :thumb:

First I enjoy watching football. I have no child playing for Raceland and I do think there is alot of fans that will say the same thing. Go sit in the stands or stand in the back of the endzone. Just because they are not on here posting it does not mean it is not being said over and over.
