Update on Jason LaRue

LaRUE'S RETURN UNCERTAIN

Backup catcher Jason LaRue continues to experience severe headaches and other symptoms related to post-concussion syndrome and the concussion he received more than a week ago in the melee with Cincinnati. The Cardinals prescribed 48 to 72 hours of no activity, and after that period the veteran was still having fogginess and difficulty with physical exertion. LaRue has not been at the ballpark since being told to spend the time at home Friday.

The Cardinals acknowledge there is a chance LaRue could miss the remainder of the season with the injury sustained when he was kicked by Cincinnati pitcher Johnny Cueto. But they hope LaRue's symptoms will fade.

Mozeliak said team physicians will re-evaluate LaRue next week. La Russa spoke to LaRue on Monday and conveyed to the media that the backup 'still didn't feel right."

Still think it was a fake injury?

I wonder if it's Larue's concussion or his .196 average this season and .231 career average that is the reason why they're telling him to stay home?

That's unfortunate.

There is zero doubt in my mind that sometime in the next series or sometime next season Cueto is going to get hit as a result of this.

Placed on 60-day DL, from what I've read elsewhere ...

He needs to Cowboy up.
You talking like Brokeback Mountain cowboying up or what?

Is that how you take it?

Didn't him and Carpenter already go down that road....

Simple really, if you don't wanna get kicked, stay out of kicking distance.

To answer your question, yes, I think the cry babies are trying to make it seem much worse than it really is. It's not like LaRue's replacement can't match his production. They're simply trying to make the Reds and Kung-Fu Johnny look bad.

I have no problem with that as long as its an appropriate place.

Absolutely, it's an unwriitten rule in the prosports forum. Figured you knew and that's why you mentioned it.

I don't want to revisit that thread we hashed out during the Cards series, but do you think Dusty will retaliate if they ding Cueto?

I'm of the opinion that if something like that happens, we'll have another throwdown. JMO
