It's also okay to show some patience at the plate and make a pitcher who is struggling with his control throw something in the strike zone. Reds' batters make it way to easy on marginal pitchers who struggle with their control. Also, I am certain there is no Reds' fan on here who wants to see their beloved team lose just so Dusty could be fired. That is ludicrous. I would like to see the Reds win EVERY game the rest of the way AND see Dusty fired. I never, ever root for a loss and I'm sure EZ doesn't either.

I have been a season ticket holder at the new park since it opened and a lifelong Red's "diehard fan" and I certainly root harder for this team and every Red's team than just about anybody I know personally. It just drives me crazy that people on here are blind to some of the nuances of baseball and don't believe that the manager plays a large part in teams winning and losing close games. Young teams like this need all the help they can get because they will be up and down. Everyone on here knows my dislike for the "toothpick" but quite honestly it looks like management is going to give him an extension. That puzzles me because I think that while he may be a good player manager I don't think he is good with split decision managing. Who do I think would be a good fit to give them both aspects of managing, I'm not sure? Most of what I consider the good managers are getting long in the tooth and probably don't have the drive they used to. There have to be some young guys coming along that played the game and know what it takes to motivate young guys today and aren't afraid to pull the trigger in a tight spot. Oh well I guess all I can do is continue to complain and at the same time hope this team can make the playoffs and continue to grow with or without Dusty. I miss the days of playoffs and World Series and complaining about the cost of playoff tickets.
