ThinkProgress Publishes Completely Fraudulent Video Labeling Tea Partiers Racists

Though it does seem that the intent of what many of these people said was not what was presented, that doesn't make what they DID say much better, nor is what the author of article said much better.

Also, RTS, the author seems to disagree with a point that you made in another thread (that the Tea Party had it's roots in 2007).

His brief — inarguably racist — shout of “Go home wetbacks!” is provably a video from 2006.

Years before the tea party existed.

Although Tea Party groups started earlier, Dec.16 2007 is when the nation wide movement got it's jump-start..

Cammando is correct.

Activist 1 is married to a black woman and was speaking what he believed about "Obama's Heart". I've used the term "black heart" numerous times over the years, it has zero to do with race.

Activist 2 isn’t a tea party protester. He is a tea party crasher.

Activist 3 confuses me as much as the author but I don't see it as racist.

Activist 4 also is not a Tea Party member, it was taken from 2006. Racist remark? Yes! What it has to do with the Tea Party is beyond me.

What are you referring to about the author?

C'mon, it's Think Progress. Is anyone really surprised?

Where did I say that it had anything to do with race? As much as some harp on others using the "race card," other, nonracial comments can also be bad. Obama has a black/evil heart? Just because you (the general "you") may disagree with what he does, does not make him evil. Additionally, just because this activist is married to a black woman does not preclude him from being a racist. I have no reason to believe that he is, but according to this author, he is "an obviously not racist man." I can't come to that conclusion simply because he is married to a black woman.

That's speculation, on both your part and the author's. Where is the proof? With that said, certainly his statements and beliefs don't have to mesh with the majority of other members (as evidently the bulletin board in Iowa, paid for by one Tea Party member, doesn't mesh with the beliefs of others.)

Activist 3 confuses me as much as the author but I don't see it as racist.
Again, it doesn't have to be racist to be wrong, though I am not sure the "Afro" in "Afro-Leninism" isn't an intentional racial remark. Activist #3 has fallen prey to those that want to use big, scary words like "socialist" and "communist" to promote fear into those that will just blindly lay blame.

Activist 4 also is not a Tea Party member, it was taken from 2006. Racist remark? Yes! What it has to do with the Tea Party is beyond me.
Again, it is speculation on whether or not he is a Tea Party member. Where is the proof? If it is indeed from a 2006 speech, then it obviously did occur before the activist could have been a Tea Party member.

What are you referring to about the author?
Much of what he says is, as he accuses others of, intellectually dishonest. By listening to him, you'd think that there absolutely couldn't be a racist amongst any of the Tea Party members.

I think the article makes accusations that are no more provable than the original video in question.

The comments after the article, tell me much more than I need to know about people who read that blog. WOW

You're right, they remind me exactly of the comments found on ThinkProgress. Strange, isn't it?

I could show you some really nasty comments from the left about Tea Partiers, Republicans, religious people and on and on if you think those comments were bad (which they were), but trust me there is much worse. Come to think of it, ace, seen I've as bad or worse on the ThinkProgress site so who are you trying to kid?

Bingo, you beat me to it. Funny how it's OK or ignored for a site he often links. :sssh:

never said that any were right, and they are just comments, but i don't remember anyone on TP saying that Harvard is no longer a good school because they let minorities in.

I don't see someone thinking he has a black or evil heart as all that horrible, heck just about everyone on the left and some on the right more or less said they felt that way about Cheney, no big deal to me. While I can agree to a point about being married to one of another race not meaning you're not racist, I can't fathom it being a very good marriage if he is.

It's been shown on the news on several occasions that there have been some crashers at Tea Party events. This is the sort of thing that's gone on for a long time, both sides do it.

OK, if it's speculation then they certainly shouldn't have added it to the video, right? Isn't it completely dishonest to do so if they don't really know?

Again, then they shouldn't have added it to the video, right? The only reason to do so is to falsely represent the Tea Party the way they want people to view it...racist. That's just pathetic.

I can agree with you on this, however, I'd hope you'd say/feel the same about ThinkProgress and it's one-sided authors.

Then you should point out the comments on ThinkProgress like you did the other site, but.....

Again, I can find a whole lot more disparaging comments than that on TP or some other left wing sites. Please stop pretending one is worse than the other, they're both absurd.
