June 22, 201115 yr I found one of my holy-of-holies last night...sort of. I've been looking for Etta James At Last on vinyl ever since I started collecting vinyl. I didn't get an original release (the full cover on the original is mustard yellow), but I did find a 1987 reissue last night at Shake It. [ATTACH]33874[/ATTACH] I think it'll tide me over pretty nicely until I find the real deal. And in an amazing string of luck, I was back at Shake It last night and picked up the real deal. It was an early 60's stereo reissue on Chess's Cadet label instead of the original mono pressing on Argo...which can sell for upwards of $300...but it's all mine!

June 28, 201115 yr Author Found one of my grail pieces last week at the very cool Ragged Records in Davenport, Iowa: "Hootenanny" by The Replacements (Sides 1/2) It's a special red-vinyl version of it — only 1,000 made — and it's in pristine condition. It goes well with the red vinyl version of the 'Mats debut I picked up from the same place at Christmastime.

July 2, 201115 yr Author I picked up one of those a while back. I felt like killing somebody. I'm loathing trying to get the folks at SST on the phone to amend this. I was fortunate in dealing with Greg Dulli's manager on a recent incident with the Twilight Singers' "Dynamite Steps" album I bought; one which had a six-inch strip of glue and cardboard affixed to one of the records upon purchase. The manger was cool enough to send me out a promo version of the record as replacement. Another I picked up about a year or so ago was "Three Feet High And Rising" by De La Soul. On it, the sequencing is right until the third side, when it inexplicably skips forward by about a half-dozen cuts to the point where on side four the album starts over with side one tracks. :ohbrother:
