Eric Senn, according to the CJ this morning, committed to Yale. There may just be something to that academic argument.

I know last year, a player was recruited hard by Harvard, but chose to go to UK...on an academic scholarship.

I believe the enrollment of the largest single sex Private Schools is a BIG concern of Public schools. Do any of the Private school supporters doubt that this is one of the major concerns? Are any of the Private School authorities willing to discuss a solution to the large difference in the 4A enrollment figures for single sex Private Schools compared to the Public 4A schools.

I realize the Private schools want more kids in their enrollment, thats fine but how about a limit on the number of kids to support a team. Where does it stop, 2000, 2500, 3000? Its not realistic to create a 5A for the few teams that would qualify, there just arent enough schools that large. This problem affects all sports.

Could these largest schools consider fielding two teams. It sounds crazy at first but has a lot of positive aspects to it, especially for the Private school kids. It is a solution to just one of the issues, if you care to discuss it and there are alot of different ways it could be accomplished.

How would the 20 mile radius work in this situation? I live within the 20 mile radius of Bishop Brossart but not Newport Central Catholic and I want to play football. Brossart doesn't offer football. What do I do?

Interesting that you gave Campbell County no thought.

Maybe he has reasons he wants to attend a private school?

Very well could but in the post, he only indicated football.

So, he needed to say specifically that he preferred to attend a private school, even though he only mentioned private schools in his post?

I was interested to know if there were reasons why if football is so important to him and he lives closer to CCHS, he would not consider it. If the reasons are because of his faith, great choice. If not, why? Is it because NCC has a chance to play for the state semifinals in Class A but CCHS while having a good season will not be doing that in AAAA? Just curious.

He said it was important to play football, but he didn't say it was the only reason he'd choose a school.

I took his post to mean that he would be in the Brossart private school radius but if they do offer football, is he allowed to attend the next closest Private school that does offer football or is he just not allowed to play because of where his residence is.

I understand that part of it but since Campbell County HS is about 2 miles from Brossart, I made the assumption that he lives in the CC school district. If he wants to play football, why not consider Campbell County?

Because if he wants to attend a private school, he can't play football for Campbell County!

So why does he want to attend a private school? Just curious. Not questioning his decision. Just curious on what made him come to this decision. Faith? Parents? Where his friends attend? What is expected of him? All of the above? Why?

What difference does it make, really? That's what confounds me....I don't question why kids attend certain public schools. It's none of my business. Why does it even matter why he wants to attend private school? Justabout any reason he, or any other person who wants to attend private school, states is automatically dismissed as implausible.

I would expect most or all of the above.
