B105's Country Music Throwdown

To each their own and I hope you do. But by the same token, I feel sorry for you because I know that there is so much better stuff out there that if you heard it, you'd be saying to yourself, "What the heck was I doing listening to that crap all those years?"

Just an hour away from NKY (pretty sure that's where you are) is the Ohio River Valley Folk Festival. I'm not familiar with all the acts that will be there but Loudon Wainwright III and The Carolina Chocolate Drops, while not totally country, are worlds better than anything at the Throwdown.

There's the Whispering Beard Folk Festival too...Guy Clark is headlining this year.

Jim if you & I went to this. I bet we would have a great time. I'm a unite er not a divide er.

Watched Eric Church open up for Bob Seger. He was pretty good.

No one has commented on the show. Was it cancelled or did they play it with the weather?

They played during the weather (sorry my first time on since last night). They weather was awful, pouring a lot of the night, but that didn't seem to affect the crowd. A lot of the younger, more intoxicated individuals were mudsliding all over the place.

I was a little disappointed with Jamey Johnson. He really only sang 3-4 songs and brought several other artists to sing instead.

Montgomery Gentry was great, as expected. Eric Church as well.

I thought Jamey Johnson was the best but I wasted to.

It wasn't a bad concert by any means. Would have been nice if the weather wasn't so bad but stuff happens. I got there later in the day (probably at 6ish) and stayed through Montgomery Gentry. I had a blast.
