B105's Country Music Throwdown

Featured Replies

Anyone heading to Riverbend on Friday for the Country Music Throwdown?

Tickets were pretty cheap.

Artists include...

Montgomery Gentry

Eric Church

Jack Ingram

Eli Young Band

Little Big Town

etc.

A chick I know told me about this tonight. I am supposed to let her know tomorrow if I plan on going. Seems like it'll be a good time.

Last I heard tickets were only $10.

20 total artists on 2 stages.

They should be free. Not much value there. :D

Montgomery Gentry alone is worth the $10 price of admission.

They put on a great concert.

You left of Jamey Johnson well worth more then $10; if he plays as long as he did in Clark county.

You are right...I did forget him, but I guess he counts in the etc.

I am looking forward to seeing him as well though.

If you say so. But don't call it "country," because it's about as country as a Brooklyn back alley.

In MJ"s defense---Jack Ingram put out some good stuff ten years ago.

Jamey Johnson is very country, if you haven't heard him I'd recomend it.

I'm familiar with him; he's definitely an outlier in that he's authentic and not some creation for CMT. But even for $10 I couldn't justify going to see that show and having to deal with the type of crowd that would flock to see the other schlock on the bill.

Well I'm certainly going to enjoy the concert and I am looking forward to it.

To each their own and I hope you do. But by the same token, I feel sorry for you because I know that there is so much better stuff out there that if you heard it, you'd be saying to yourself, "What the heck was I doing listening to that crap all those years?"
