CCH v. Holy Cross 5/13 Predictions

Nope, you are all wrong look for David Brueggman to start.
Why David? Stats

9 games 41 innings (most of any CovCath pitcher)
33 Hits 24 K's 6 BB 5 wins 2 losses 1.37 era 8 earned runs
15 total runs 142 PA

Then again I could be wrong maybe Warning, Gerwe
or my choice Matt Klein? :idunno:

Or Krumps could go with the 10th graders
Fagel and Arzen as they did a great job against
one of the best hitting team in the Ninth in
Boone County.

Then again Michael Hellman has a 2.19 era and a
3-0 record, so he too could be the starter. :thumb:

Or maybe Cory Severson as I was told he
had one of the strongest outings of the season
against Simon Kenton and I quote from an E-mail
sent to me by a CovCath parent since I couldn't
attend the game "As dominant a pitching performance as CovCath
has had in years and that is going back to the Harmon days. He may have
been 1-0, behind in the count, on 3 batters all day. He was ahead on every
hitter and threw an untouchable breaking ball with a fastball that might have
hit 75 mph once or twice. It was fun to watch.

Hey he is an idea, maybe Krumps will pitch a
different pitcher each inning, that way HC wouldn't
be able to zone in on any one pitcher! :clap:Yea, that
sounds like the best idea yet!

Come on, Warning is the ace. Brueggman was absolutely hammered against Conner. No way he goes with him. I would agree he possibly could pitch Gerwe or Klein, but not Brueg, Shumate, Severson, Arnzen, Fagel, or any others.

So I guess the week before performance (April 28), against that same Conner team didn't impress you? I mean all he did was shut Conner out!

Brueggman (win) 68 pitches 7 complete innings 25 PA 3 hits 0 runs 0 walks 3 K's 1 hbp.

Oh and BTW David also has pitched 2 inning of shut out 1 hit baseball against HC already this season.

Didn't Arnzen shut down Holy Cross on Saturday, when he got on? And I could very well see Brugeman getting the start. Though most likely it will be Gerwe or Warning.

Because Adam Warning is their "ace". He threw the Beechwood game, it only makes sense he would throw the HC game. You could apply the same logic for Ritter.

Ritter probably won't pitch, I'd look for Roenker.

Its essentially a one-game tournament.

We'll see Roenker and Ritter from HC.

We'll see 100-pitch and Gerwe from CCH.

Shumate cannot be in the mix. He pitched Monday and is ineligible today.

At least someone knows what they're talking about!:ylsuper:

Krumps would have used Warning in Sunday's championship game if he wasn't holding him back for today...

It has to be Warning.

While I do not think we'll see Shumate, he is eligible to pitch in today's game.

Krumps could be saving Warning for Dixie tomorrow, even though the game tomorrow isnt a huge game. If Warning does pitch tomorrow then it will be the 3rd time he has faced Dixie this year. He is 2-0 against them as of now. So who knows what Coach Krumps is thinking.

Im willing to say Brueggman or Gerwe throws tonight and Warning tomorrow night against Dixie Heights.

Zero chance Krumps holds anyone for a meaningless game. His ONLY priority is to get the #1 seed. He might not start. Krumps might go with Gerwe. However, if its in doubt and he needs a pitcher he's not going to hold Warning for Dixie.

Yeah let's face it. The number 1 seed plays Holmes in district play. While the #2 + #3 seeds battle it out and the losers SEASON is over.

No disrespect to Holmes, but the game vs. Holy Cross is much bigger than the game vs. Dixie.
