So here's the deal. After reading this thread, I'm at the airport, I see an English speaking person working the counter so I thought I'd give their breakfast a go. I ordered the sausage, egg and cheese muffin (my McDonald's favorite) and hash browns. It was horrible. The "eat fresh" motto can be thrown out of the door. The meat was not very tasty, had that pale look to it. The hash browns were reheated and not at all good. To boot they were out of milk to wash it down.

 

I would never get sausage or hash browns from subway. Western muffin and coffe is what I get. It's just egg whites, ham, cheese, onions, and green pepppers toasted.

The western muffin is what I've had there and I thought it was decent. I also add some hot sauce to mine.

Most of the breakfasts I eat are at the airport or on my way there. I did look at the prices and they were "airport prices" I think the $5.00 subs were $5.50.

I did like the idea of being able to add the veggies and other options to my sandwich. I just went for my McD's favorite, big mistake. The guy before me got a wrap with ham, cheese etc. looked pretty good.

I still think the only way they will survive the breakfast menu is if the staff has to be there anyway to start baking bread etc. If they are paying overhead it would not be that much of an additional cost to unlock the doors.

I went to one yesterday that had one employee working and she was baking bread for the afternoon. It really seems to me that all they did was cooked eggs. Everything else they had is available in the afternoon.

I fired Subway from my preferred places to eat. The only ones in my neighborhood have new owners and none can speak English so I stopped going there!

 

 

Had the same problem with the one I used to go to. The help could not understand me and I could not understand them. And having pictures of sandwiches 10 feet above the counter did not help either. I just got tired of not getting what I wanted and quit going. Sad, they seemed like nice people.

I believe my Subway is still serving them.

If I want a good hot breakfast, I cook it myself!
