April 13, 201016 yr Even many conservative Republicans are asking that this birth movement be put to rest because it is unfounded. Anyone who clings to this needs to move on. There are many more important viable issues available to go after Obama on. Whenever someone makes this birthing argument, they lose a credibility. A Voice of Reason indeed.:thumb: :thumb::thumb::thumb: Fine. Please explain what this means.... "Barack has led by example. April 13, 201016 yr Fine. Please explain what this means.... "Barack has led by example. When we took our trip to Africa, and visited his home country in Kenya,...." I am confident that there are many Polish people who have lived their entire lives in the US that are grieving today over the tragedy in their "home country". "Home country" often refers to an ancestral home. It always puzzles me that people want to take one comment and try to fashion it into a policy statement.

I think the Jewish people would be another example of what you are mentioning. Not to mention that I believe the African American community went through a phase in the 80's and 90's that they constantly referred to Africa as their home country no matter whether their ancestors had been slaves or not, no matter whether they had been in this country for hundreds of years or not.
April 14, 201016 yr Fine. Please explain what this means.... "Barack has led by example. When we took our trip to Africa, and visited his home country in Kenya,...." The point I was trying to make is that IF Obama is not legally the POTUS, without absolute proof, the argument is a dead stick. Personally I think his actions more than his Birth certificate will do him in. For the record, I believe Michelle meant exactly what she said. When she said "home country" she meant his birth place. IMO, anyone that doesn't consider their "Home" country to be the USA, shouldn't be President. Again, it's a dead stick.

Personally I do not believe he is from a different country, but when you're the President of the US and not just one of those many Polish people, you or your wife does not and should not refer to another country as your "Home Country". IDC if it is ancestral, it doesn't make the statement right.
April 15, 201016 yr For the record, I believe Michelle meant exactly what she said. When she said "home country" she meant his birth place. And the birthers live on. Is it any wonder that some of us have trouble believing that we should pay attention to anything these people say? Think about it. The President and his mother were smart enough to get a birth announcement into the paper, smart enough to get a birth certificate in Hawaii, smart enough to get the Hawaii officials in on the conspiracy, smart enough to keep the whole thing under wraps for almost half a century and dumb enough to blurt it out in public. Yeah, makes sense to me.

Yeah, makes sense to me. Not a "Birther" by any stretch of the imagination. I see you left out the rest of my post. Just because I believe he was born out of the United States doesn't mean I'm stating it as a fact. Frankly, I don't care and I don't think it's worth arguing about..."Dead Stick" is how I described it. Does that sound like a birther to you? I thank you very much for the label though. As to the bolded. It's quite obvious obama supporters on BGP and abroad have absolutely no intention of paying any attention to what the ones that oppose him say, Birthers or not.:ohbrother:

The portion of your post that I deleted was not relative to the point I was making. If you can believe such nonsense without even a shread of evidence (and a great deal of evidence to the contrary) it makes me discount your views on most every subject. The statement that it is a dead stick because you can't do anything about it doesn't change the fact that you believe it.

Yeah, makes sense to me. They were pretty smart to get that birth announcement in the paper. I mean obviously they knew he was going to run for President later. The family was real political and all. I agree that the birthers lose some if not all credibility. I also agree that he should have publically ended all of this by being transparent. Part of me thinks he's doing this so he can point at the birthers and laugh.

What the hell, call me a birther if you wish. Tell me something you believe that I don't, and then I can discount your views on most subjects. No, I won't do that either.
April 16, 201016 yr As obvious as it is that those that are anti-Obama have absolutely no intention to what the ones who support him say, "socialist or not". I agree 100%. I am as guilty as anyone on here. I haven't seen much credit given in any direction. It's fun though. I especially like it when we start labeling each other. My dad always told me to never argue politics or religion, you can't win. That was before BGP and he was right, there are no winners. There's something about arguing and getting under some one's skin that I can't resist. And as warped as that might sound, I honestly see it as fun.
