Lets get something straight ... they are not my Camels.... I dislike them as much as I dislike the arrogant Colonels.

But the truth of the matter here is that the typical Cov Cath attitude is starting to come out.

Not to mention another excuse pointing to where Cov Cath didn't run or jump their strongest ... well ... we hear that week after week and it is starting to seem like an excuse to everyone other than Cov Cath people.

Cov Cath had a chance to go head to head with Campbell County and most of the other good schools in the area at the Area 5 Meet ... Cov Cath avoided it like the plague. I don't want to hear any whining about Cov Cath going anywhere else ... because every good team in NKY ran either the day before the meet ... or on Saturday (like Cov Cath) or ... Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

That doesn't even speak to the fact that Cov Cath had a very small number of qualifiers to begin with. (Not enough to compete for the win).

I don't want to hear any excuses about it not being on the schedule for Cov Cath .. because it wasn't on the schedule for anyone.

AND ... I know for a fact why Cov Cath avoided it.

So ... keep talking about how great Cov Cath is ... and how much better they are over Campbell.

Everyone (except Cov Cath people) sees the situation for what it is .... avoidance ......

Oh wise one please educate me as to why?? I thought it was published in the paper thatg Cov Cath was not the only school to skip the new meet. But, you only seem to call out the Colonels. Your hatred to the Colonels is clear, and that is fine. I don't have a problem when people hate, as more often then not hate stems from jealousy.

As far as Cov Cath not running/jumping their strongest guys, it is a fact dude. Some I think is do to injuries, but Coach also appears to be doing a lot of developing other guys. This I think is a good thing.

As far as my thoughts on Central, I am not going to go back thur all my posts, but I am quite certain there were others, but it does not mean anything to me as it obviously does you. Central has some studs and it will be a great state meet.

As to why ... go ask your coach.

He didn't seem to shy about giving his thoughts ...

I will end on this note ... there is nothing about the little Colonels that I will ever be jealous about. Ever.

The little Colonels have had zero success beating our program in cross country and in track in our "strength" events in the last 4 years.

What I do have a problem with are people who can't admit when they are wrong ... and try to act like they have some great understanding of who the best teams are.

As far as the little Colonels not running/jumping their strongest ... it really makes you wonder how many more times we are going to hear this line.

It sounds like you are building an excuse for a big defeat here in a couple of weeks.

You need to go back through all the posts ... because you have been very clear that there is no reason why the little Colonels shouldn't repeat this year ....

There is something to say for credible statements.

Every time that I have been wrong in this conversation ... I have admitted it. (You may want to try it sometime).

You were doing a lot better when you were keeping track of what you were saying a month or so ago.

Good luck to the little Colonels ... it looks like it will be a two way battle for 2nd/3rd place between the little Colonels and the Blue Tornado (who is probably the only TRUE competition for Central at this point).

I'm sorry but quickslick, you just sound ignorant. The whole Area 5 thing was a joke and there were plenty of teams not there, mainly due to the fact that it was not scheduled at the coaches meeting in the beginning of the year. Instead, it was scheduled a month ago. Teams like Covcath already had two meets scheduled that week and would rather be challenging themselves against the best competition. You say Covcath has trouble beating you in your "strength" events but what else do you have besides a 4x8, a two miler, and an 800 runner? The meet on Saturday was to help some younger guys get some experience at a big meet. The point spread means nothing because as I recall, Covcath entered the state meet last year ranked 4th. If I remember correctly, I think they did a little better than that? And as for KingLouie's comments about being short on people, this is actually true. Covcath's best long jumper has not jumped for a month due to injury and their best hurdler ran with an illness. They also just threw in a team of jumpers to have FUN and run the 4x4 because they did not have any guys to fill it. It sounds like you get a little too worked up over track and need to ENJOY the sport for what it is instead of rip on other teams.

slick - I agree with what Cincy is saying above 100%. I do not need to ask the coach - I know why. Our schedule was finalized long before this 'dream meet' came out. He was not going to back out of something he committed to long back, to attend a meet that was unproven, and one where his Team could not get better.

Who is your school again? I am not going to go back thru all your posts and try and figure it out. Doesn't matter to me. Support your team and I support mine. Nothing wrong there. Why are you bringing Cross Country into this conversation? I have never mentioned it. And as for winning in some events, does that make one team better than the other? I thought that to win a meet a team needed to get the most points. I think that is even possible without without even a single event winner, making them the best team. Do you not agree with this?

Yes I have been saying that the Colonels could and do have a good chance at winning state. I have been saying that all along, and will continue to say that until the state meet is over. Why wouldn't I? I support the team and saw what they did last year. So what have I stated on here that was wrong? Did we already lose state??????

So what does your team winning some events and in cross country have to do with a track meet??

You guys really challenged your self with the BEST possible competition last week--while, according to you and louie--running a bunch of young guys (again--according to you) at a solid meet on Saturday (pretty funny how your logic just falls part there).

And yeah ... thats its buddy. A 4x800, a 2 miler and an 800 runner almost scored as many points as the great Cov Cath Little Colonels ... Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.

Ignorant .... make sure you look in the mirror buddy.

The Area 5 meet was on the schedule in FEBRUARY. That is a little more than a month ago partner.

Our schedule was set then as well .... and it just proves the point.

That meet isn't about backing out of anything ... it is about your best guys running one race to see who the best is in each event in the area.

With all of the high level meets that the Little Colonels go to .. you would think that they would understand an "elite" concept.

And again .. pretty funny that MANY (many more that went than pulled out) schools didn't seem to have a problem finding a way to fit it into their schedules.

Cov Cath "short on people" ... with all that depth ... I have a hard time wrapping my mind around that one (as do many others).

Cincy ... I have fun everyday ...but thanks for your concern ....

You guys can keep up the same song and dance ... I don't want to rain on the little blue parade.

Track is not my thing, but I did get a kick out of your lack of knowledge of Northern Kentucky High School nicknames!:lol::D

I can only assume you are new to NKy or are not old enough to know/understand that the "Little Colonels" were never CovCath but Dixie.

Dixie back in the day were the "Lil Colonels" and they were proud of it, heck it was a part of their sharp looking Red and Grey uniforms, so go ahead and make fun of CovCath all you like, but the Little Colonels will for all time be the Red Colonels of Dixie !

So, on the bolded points - almost - does almost ever win? I did not think so.

Scheduled in Feb - ok - when were schedules finalized and commitments made? Yep, long before Feb. Again, why would a coach alter a schedule for an unproven, first time run meet? I guess a lot of schools do not keep a full schedule or what not since all the top dogs were there as you seem to think.

I did not realize that a first time run, unproven meet was automatically the top meet in the area. Wow - sorry the guys missed it. Guess I need to petition to get Coach fired!

As for the short on people comment - I have no problem with developing a TEAM, getting guys healthy, etc by skipping a meaningless meet such as this. This meet seems to be more geared to highlighting individuals and not the TEAM - or did I miss something?

and Thanks for not raining on the parade. I like the sunshine!

King Louie, when is the next meet in NKY?

King Louie, when is the next meet in NKY?

The Regional Tune-up is at Dixie this Saturday. I think Villa is hosting a relay meet tonight, and The North Central Kentucky Track Conference Meet is at Walton Verona on Thursday of this week. The regional tune-up is normally a well attended meet. I know nothing really about the other two.

CovCath and Campbell are without a doubt the two best teams in NKY. I think Campbell would win all of the distance events and they are better(at this point) in the 3200 and 1600 Meter relays. But CovCath has too much depth in the hurdling and field events. It is called track and field for a reason....On the track Campbell would probably score more points due to the depth in all of NKY in the open events. But unless you watch the field events it would appear Campbell has the better team. CovCath would probably edge them out....but again, it does not matter for they compete in two separate regions and classes. Neither have enough to compete in 3A state meet. You can expect that title to be claimed by a Louisville school, most likely Male.

I agree Campbell has a strong team, and is stronger than Cov Cath in the distance events. But, I think Cov Cath wins the team title between them and Campbell by their wins in the sprints, hurdles, relays and field events. I also agree that neither can compete at the 3A state meet, and fortunately for us, Cov Cath runs in 2A!
