Garrard County Job.......

Featured Replies

Good hire! Would Coach Denny be going with him? Might could use a veteran on the bench.

Coach Denney has already been here once. He served a two-week tour of duty in Lancaster in the summer of 1997, ran a summer camp, and then left to take the job at McCreary Central. It would be nice to actually meet him!

Brad is an excellent choice. One of the best young coaches around. Garrard County got a STEAL!

Is it official? I agree 110% that Sizemore will be a GREAT HC, but not sure if it is a done deal yet. Any word from Brad?

Yes it's a done deal.

I hate to see him leave Laurel County, but Garrard is getting a terrific young coach!!

It will be in the Times-Tribune tomorrow. He was also named Athletic Director.

I know that this past year, 2 coaches split the duties for budgetary reasons. Football coach Mark Scenters is currently the spring AD and I cannot remember who was the fall AD. Will this be a split again, or just one person?

I think Brad will be a GREAT coach but also being a full time AD in your first head coaching job could be a little overwhelming.

The fall AD was former baseball coach Ed Rall.

Very nice hire for Garrard Co. Brad will make them a fine coach. Does Garrard have a new high school about ready to open or maybe it is already, went by the area about a year ago saw work in progress.

Yes, the new school opens this fall. But it is a phase build so there is only a PE gym right now. The teams will continue to plays their games at the old high school. It is suspected that the new gym will be open with a couple years. It wasn't an ideal situation, but the old gym is still one of the best in the region.

I know I am off the thread topic but is the district tourney at Garrard this year?

I do like the gym at Garrard. One of the better ones of the ones I have been to.

Thanks, I couldn't remember the name.

Is the AD job still going to be a split job as it was last year?

Yes, the district will be at Garrard this season. And you are right, the Garrard gym is really nice. Plenty of parking and plenty of seating. The only problem is occasional congestion at Maple Avenue/Lexington Street when people are leaving.

Thanks, I couldn't remember the name.

MT, I'm not sure about the status of the AD job. I think it will likely be split, at least for one more year, although I can't say that for sure.
