Any games at CCH for me to catch the nexy couple days?

Dixie plays CCH this Wednesday at Cov Cath.

Note: Schlagbaum had 1 K. He struck out Hempel in the 6th inning.

Any games at CCH for me to catch the nexy couple days?

Two games this Saturday. Game 1 CovCath vs Conner and Game 2 4:30pm vs St. Henry both games at CovCath.

Conner also plays Ryle after they play Cov Cath.

Ryle Hitting: Note I didn't have a roster, so if my spelling is incorrect, I am sorry in advance!

# 2 Longkard 4 PA 3 runs scored 2 hits and 1 HPB

#10 Carney 4 PA 1 hit and 1 K

# 8 Hempel 4 PA 1 run scored 1 walk 2 K's and 1 sb

# 6 Hoskins 4 PA 1 run scored 2 rbi's 1 hit (HR 360) 1 walk "IW" and 1 K

#12 Clarkson 4 PA 1 hit 2 rbi's 1 cs and reached base via E-3, E-6 and E-5

# 9 Truitt 4 PA 1 run scored 2 walks and reached base via E-5

#22 Hensley 4 PA 1 K and reached base via E-9

# 3 Imi 4 PA and 1 walk

# 5 B. Donovan 4 PA 1 run scored 1 hit (double) and 1 k

BTW another big play was in the top of the sixth for Ryle:

#5 Donovan batting first to lead off the inning, hits a double. #2 Longkard bunts down the first base line and the CovCath kids watch and hope for the ball to go foul, but it stays fair. Men on third and first no outs. #10 Carney goes 1-3 for the first out, men on second and third. #8 Hempel K's on a 1-2 count swinging, two outs. CovCath Coach Krumps calls for a "IW" to #6 Hoskins to load the bases. #12 Clarkson with a 2-2 count hits a single up the middle to score #5 and #2 for Ryle to take the lead. #9 Truitt then with two men on makes the third out FO9.

If the CovCath players field the bunted ball and get the out at first base on #2 Longheard, not a single run scores and CovCath goes on to win the game.

Great and exciting game to watch, on a beautiful day at CovCath!

Ryle record is 2-1

CovCath record is 1-1

Who caught for CCH? Mattie?

Who caught for CCH? Mattie?

Klein and he did a very good job of it. Blocked the plate and put the tag on a runner at the plate while holding on to the the ball in the first and threw a runner out at second trying to steal in the 5th.

TOG, the paper shows Clarkson went 3-3. Were they blatant errors or could they have gone either way?

I simply ask as I see some coaches "really" make you earn the hit and others are a little more lenient.

Is Shumate hurt, only one inning pitched in two games or are they saving him for this weekend with two tough games. Giad to hear that Klein is doing well.

At least two were definite hits, probably all three. Guess it depends on who's keeping score. Conversely, Seimer was given a hit on a play that was an error by Ryle. The paper has it right!

I believe in playing the game as it should be played. If the ball is hit at you at this level, you should catch it, I don't buy, it was hit too hard!

Now his first at bat it was hit right at the CovCath first basemen and indeed it was off the end of the bat so it had a lot of spin on it but if the first basemen gets down and in front of the ball, it's not that hard of a play to make. Call it a hit, but the people around me, called it an error as I did.

His second at bat was hit to the SS and if you call that a hit, well.....:idunno:

Routine play at best.....Again IMO and again those around me, agreed error.

The third at bat was the hardest call to make, as indeed the ball was hit very hard at the CovCath third baseman but he did get his glove on the ball and I can tell you that both Popham and Darner would have made the play.

Again, I could see the third at bat being a hit, but the first two, not IMO.

Remember these young men are suppose to be playing on a team, that a lot of people think is a top five team in all of the Ninth Region, so I believe they should be making the plays in question.

Again all of this is just my opinion, nothing more, nothing less!

Just wondering, are you calling the hit in the sixth an error or the bunt in the third an error for Siemer?

And calling the squid hit to the first baseman and the routine play to the SS hits........:idunno: As I stated, the ball hit to the third baseman that he got his glove on IMO should have been caught at this level but that is the only ball that maybe could have been a hit!

Adam is fine and did a good job in his inning pitched! This was CovCath only second game of the season and they play two more games on Saturday. Don't worry, he will be getting his innings!

Interesting that the same rules for qualification as a "hit" don't apply for some CCH hitters. If you didn't see an error by Ryle's 3Bman yesterday, you were sleeping. And if you think Hensley's ball was an error rather than a triple, wow. Same for Clarkson's hit down the line. Every time a bunt is laid down, it isn't an automatic hit. You don't judge error/hit based on whether a past fielder for a certain team might have made the play. It's whether the play was reasonable to make. Period. But score it any way you want if it helps CCH's batting averages and pitching stats.
