Is Brad Leeke of Beechwood playing this year?

 

YES

I may be completely wrong but I believe when all is said and done that Beechwood will have a long regular season as well. When Bertke pitches they will be in the ball games but they are so young IMO they will take several lumps this year. But of course, Myeroff will get the most out of what he has as he does every year so we will see.

Wow 2 games in. I believe that Conner and Beechwood are arguably two of the best teams in NKY. I would have to say you are a bit premature with these assesments.

 

Yes, it would be nice to win all your games, but as you now, the regular season doesn't mean a whole lot. With their district, it's a blind draw for the pairings so we'll see how that plays out. I am not settling, but again, it's a bit early.

 

With their schedule, the season may be long for these kids, but Jeremy has them sold on his philosophy. I say let the Coach coach and everybody else keep being that armchair QB that so many love to be. :thumb:

I think that I qualified my remarks quite well.

 

And seeing as how I may have coached a game or two myself in the past .. my "armchair QB" (probably one of the most uninformed comments in the history of BGP by the way--so at least you accomplished something with that comment) streak in me tells me that it doesn't take long to get a feel for whether philosophy changes like this are going to work.

 

Clyde asked the question about runs .. and how many they have scored. I immediately looked in the opposite direction ... they have given up 15 runs in two days---11 at one time. Correct me if I am wrong ... but that could speak to pitching (and defense, good offensive teams, etc).

 

As I said before ... I know they are young ... and it is great that the kids have bought in. I just think that question of stability with Liggett calling pitches is something that could have helped the comfort factor of a young group a little more than directing traffic (which to me--is a little less involved then calling pitches).

 

Sorry my question hurt your feelings .... but if you read it again .. I think you will realize that I was asking a legitimate question .. and qualified it with all of your points.

Bertke looked good on the mound, Cottingham look strong behind the plate. Liggett is by far the best catcher in the 9th.

They have a much better more experienced baseball coach!

The funny thing is ... I am 100% certain that I said:

 

"I actually thought the change had some great logic ... but ...a catcher like Liggett may have the ability to lead the young pitchers a little better through his calling."

 

Pretty sure that that means .... I ALSO think that the coach knows what he is doing.
