Private Feeder Schools versus Recruiting

Featured Replies

How much does it cost to go to Highlands or Beechwood, when you live outside the city?

We pay right at $2000. The Ft. Thomas Independent School District has a reciprocal agreement with the Kenton Cty School System. Kenton Cty releases their state monies to Ft. Thomas to make up the difference as if you lived in Campbell Cty somewhere. Ft. Thomas has no agreement with any school system in Campbell Cty. Or at least they didn't when I started this process about 6 years ago. Without state monies, tuition in Ft. Thomas is somewhere around $4700 if you live outside of City limits.

Beechwood I have heard in the past is around $2700.

Thanks tbyballgame, if you want to mess up the hole school system, the private Schools should just shut down there Schools for one year and see what happens.

For what it's worth, I'm a HHS alum. You?

Thats great, my point is in NK private and public are about the same you can go to School anywhere you would like.

Just for the record, I think this country would be greatly served to go to a voucher system and give all the equal opportunity to benefit from the great things that happens at private schools.

They have an agreement with Dayton, also how many kids get a full ride, alot I would say 2 or 3 a year get full rides from Highlands per year.

A recent study done in the Cincinnati area regarding kids who were utilizing vouchers showed that their test scores were not improved over the peers of the schools they had left. Just reinforces my point that it all starts and ends with parents and the home life. Vouchers and good schools can't fix what's wrong at home.
