what a SHOCKER!!!!!! What a fantastic job coach Conway has done with the kids he has. I am sure that if you were to look at south's roster that many could be going to north. I have heard many north fans say that they should have this person or that person. I bet right now all they are saying is YEA!!!!!! Great win for the Jags and to the coaching staff!!!!!!!!!!

North Laurel has played a good schedule this season. They have four really nice players on that squad. I look for North to chase Wilson or Johnson with Wardrup.

I am not shocked, NL plays good defense. I thought that NL or HC could end up in the finals. I think Coach Conway has done a heck of a job the last few years. Congats to NL.

North just outworked South tonight. Great game plan, and excellent execution. The Jaguars played as a unit and really seemed to have found themselves in the region tourney, much like last year when they took Corbin to the wire in the semi-finals. This year, they got over the hump. They played smart. North's game plan of getting to the paint and forcing the action into St. John's lap worked very well. St. John has always been the one player that North has struggled to contain the past few years and getting him into foul trouble was HUGE. When Knox Central got him in foul trouble, they weren't able to take advantage. Tonight, North did. Their defense was as good as I have seen them play this season. Cheek has really taken over during this regional tourney, Wardrup played big, Likins can fill it up, Shears makes big plays when they need it, Spencer & Creech did a good job in keeping a body on St. John, but he still got his points in limited minutes. However, the rest of the team didn't let someone else beat them. They did a tremendous job in not letting South get many open looks, especially from 3 point range.

 

Great effort for the Jags, ... good to see them get back to the regional title game for the first time in a while.

Alot of people over looked North and looks like South did to.

Congrats to NL. They will give Corbin all they want and then some Monday night.

I think that for most of the year the other players for South just waited around for St. John to make a play and when he played hard he was almost impossible to stop. But many of the times I saw him he did not play hard the whole game and seemed to get in foul trouble becuase he was not playing hard.

 

Gilbert and Watkins both really stepped up later in the season but shooting from the outside is a tough way to make a living and in the end that was what stopped the South run in the region.
