Bowling Green 74 Warren Central 70

Featured Replies

Bowling Green gets the better of the Dragons behind a very strong effort of their players around Behanan. They didn't have the unbelievable individual effort like they did from DJ Ray in their first win, but otherwise it was like the blueprint of the first WC/BG game. Behanan does a lot, but the guys around him actually play the game. When BG nearly loses or does lose, you will probably see that Chane scored more than 50% of their points.

He beat Fant pretty handily tonight, as George did not have near the game he'd been having. He was almost a non-factor at times.

Sounds like a good one.

Any gut feeling on who's going to come out of the region?

Well, being you asked me after that performance, I'd say Bowling Green. Neither them or Warren Central is so good that I would say no one else could jump up there, but all the same, I think it'll be one of those two teams. Bowling Green really impressed me tonight. They were a night and day team from the way they looked against Greenwood, when Chane had 27 of Bowling Green's 44 points. The players around him aren't very consistent, which does give me pause about them, but when they're on, they're probably the best team in the region. It's just too much to ask for some of these teams to beat them when they've got the best player in the region and some of the other guys are playing well.

I will say this though, that final is not as close as the 4th Quarter was. They were toe to toe for about 2.5 quarters, then BG pulled away. They were up 13 with about 2:40 left, and then they started having trouble closing it out. It was 73-70 and they got 1 of 2 free throws with 8 seconds left to put it out of reach. That is a concern for BG, closing out games. They nearly lost their first game against Central for that reason.

Thanks.:thumb: We don't often get a lot of info on teams from out your way, I appreciate the scoop.

I appreciate the scoop as well as the an unbiased explanation as to what happened and what to expect from teams in that region. :thumb:

I agree, you can always depend on DF to give an indepth unbiased report.

I have been keeping up with these teams and thought that BG could pull the upset. For WC better now than in the regionals. Best of luck next week.

Great game tonight..Tremendous atmoshpere at Warren East's small gym. They had to turn people away as the ticket sellers anticiapated they would only sell 3,100 tickets. This was my first time seeing Chane in person and he is a legitimate top 100 recruit. I was impressed by his hustle and tenancity. I now see why Pitino and Huggins were in Bowling Green last week. Hopefully, he stays at BG for his senior year..Some rumors he may attend a Prep academy next year...

Dragon Fire is clearly biased (), but his reports are always on the money ...
