Holmes 57 Covington Catholic 43

For CCH the highlight was the continuing improvement and emergence of Alex Connelly. He now gives it to you on both ends where before he was a stopper. Shot looks good. Drive to the basket looks good.

CCH will either have a perimeter game or they will lose.

You mean going to the basket like this!

On a side note, the guy sitting next to Jamel Riley is a texting machine. Every time I looked over he was knocking out another text. Quite impressive.

Probably the guy giving me live game updates.

Nice pics Panda. Love the last two. The Posterization of the CovCath player and then the what looked like an AND ONE for Pittman.

Congrats to the Dawgs on the win, but Cov Cath showed me a whole lot tonight. It's time for the Regional games to begin and both teams seem to be ready to go.

Pittman and Thelen got into it just before this play and Pittman was bound and determined to stuff one......Jake had other ideas.

 Congratulations JJ this spells bad news for the rest of the ninth region if he steps up his game another notch.

:eek:Scary to think that age wise this kid should be in this years Jr. class :scared:

Nice pictures Panda looks like them Bulldogs were playing a little Stuff-O-Reno tonight.

This game sounds pretty much like a repeat of the Holmes versus Beechwood game...except no dunks in the Beechwood game. As to Holmes' depth, I think they do have depth. They have several players who can give them solid minutes. What they don't have is any offense from the bench unless the above mentioned Rice attacks the basket. As long as they can keep 2 of the big 3 on the floor for offense, they are ok depth wise.

Holmes jumped out 17-2 against Beechwood on Wednesday and the game was over. Cov. Cath. was down 47-41 with the ball and 3:21 to go in the game. The place was rocking. Holmes withstood the challenge.

Yes, the CCH game was definitely much more of a contest but in both games Holmes jumped out to a double digit lead early by hitting the threes, took control of the game and was in charge the rest of the way.
