Pendleton 55 Harrison 49

Martin and Thomas could not get it going. Congrats to Pendleton County.

Plus, not a lot of teams can win while shooting 2-28 from 3-point land at halftime.

With the obvious advantage inside that they had, why in the world were they shooting 28 3's at halftime?

Could someone from Harrison tell me why Thomas played outside all night against PC? He was so much quicker and taller than anyone PC had. He could have killed them on the inside and also been there for the offensive rebounds which he hardly ever was. Good win for the wildcats.

Aaron Bonar, junior playing his first year, came in and gave Thomas fits in the 4th quarter. He is quick, strong and can jump and has that football mentality installed by Coach Teegarden that he ain't backing down from anyone.

His defensive play on Thomas in the 4th may have won the game for the Wildcats.

Congrats to PC! Good luck on a good showing in the regions!

I guess this means another week of playing without one of their asst. coaches in our men's league :lol: but I'm sure that's a pretty good trade off for him.

I believe Harrison County was 2-28 for the game, not at halftime. Either way that's a lot of threes for a team with a size advantage to shoot.

This was a tremendous game. The crowd and atmosphere was crazy. Michael Walsh had two big buckets and took a charge on Malcom Thomas in the last 2minutes of the game, and senior Timmy Cooper sealed the deal with 6 Free Throws in the final minute.

I think Mason Monroe is hands-down the best freshman in the region, and he has to be close to the best in the state. That kid's composure is out of this world, and if he continues to grow he can become unstoppable.

Congrats to Pendleton County on being crowned 38th District Champs!

Close to best in the state might be a stretch, but he is an excellent young point guard. Congrats to the Wildcats on the district title.:thumb:

Yes he did a good job on Thomas. I wouldn't say he gave him fits though. Why he played 25 feet from the goal all night is what baffles me. If HC had hit a few threes it would have been over for PC. The refs got in the walking call mode again on PC. Also Thomas would have been out of the game early if PC players would just pump fake him some and then go up and get fouled. They only tried that once and got hammered but no call was made.:idunno:

I don't know how much you have seen this kid play mcpapa? But Jody Demling of the Courier Journal has him rated in the top of his freshman rankings in the state. See his blog on 2/16/10.

I agree this kids composure is amazing. He plays the point and runs the team like a junior or senior. He is very fun to watch play the game and is very unselfish. If he wanted he could put up 20 plus points every night. But on this years team they do not need him to that.
