Very tough loss for PK and BC Lady Bears. Either way they are in the Regional Tournament and best of luck to them and to Mason as well.

Congrats to the entire Mason Co coaching staff and players from 8-20 to last year to District Champs! Good luck to Mason Co in Region and also to Bracken Co, I look for both teams to make a run in Region.

The Mason County Lady Royals, down seven at the half, rallied to edge the Bracken County Lady Bears 55-53 tonight in the championship game of the 39th District Tournament at Bracken County. Keller Menke made two free throws to tie the game at 53-53 with 24 second to play, and hit the go ahead layup with 2.6 seconds left. After a timeout, Menke intercepted the inbounds to clinch the victory. Bracken County missed 17 free throws in the game. Menke had a double-double with 28 points and 16 rebounds. Beth Queen added 11 points.

Congrats to the Mason County Lady Royals, there were many that didn't give you a chance to advance past the first round and you stuck together and held your composure in the tight moments of the last two games. Two straight games you came back after trailing and could have called it a night but you never quit. To Bracken County, your kids played hard and had a great game plan and were prepared like they always are. You have an outstanding coach in PK and his staff and you should be proud of their effort and best of luck to both teams in next weeks regional tournament.

I believe the stat was 15-32 and Mason County was 19-25.

Bracken was 15-32 for 47%. Mason was 19-25 for 76%. Lady Royals' Keller Menke was 18-21 for 86%.
