Absolutely, a lot of colleges have high schools players come in during Camps, Showcases and workouts with the team in the off season, to evaluate your skills.

 

You are limited to the workout with the team invites but you can attend showcases, camps at your leisure.

I know during camps and showcases. I didn't know you could through for a coach one on one. I guess that would be considered a official visit?

I knew you could privately work out for an NAIA, DII, and DIII school, but I didn't know that you could for a DI school.

Thanks for the clarification. I knew that you could try out for a DII school and an NAIA school because I have had first hand experiences at both levels. I just assumed that you could at the DIII level. I did not think that it was permitted however, at a DI school but I was not 100% sure on that.

 

When my son worked out for a DII school in North Carolina I had to sign waiver forms (partly for insurance purposes) that stated and included NCAA guildlines that we were following in and by participating in the workout. He was actually able to take part in the teams intrasquad scrimmages.

Does Georgetown College take anyone on their team that can get into school? I looked at their website and last year's team had over 40 players.

 

Of those 40 players only 9 returned this year. Georgetown has 5 Seniors, 3 Juniors, 1 Sophomore and 37 Freshman as the 2006 Season begins. As far as I know, they will not be playing a JV schedule this year.

Five D1 players. How did Henry Clay do last season?

Well we lost to LCA in the region, but had them beat. Webster was pitching and there was a routine flyball hit to leftfield with 2 outs in the 7th inning and we had a 1 run lead. The leftfielder who was a sophmore and had probably started 3 games all season, runs to his right while the ball fall inches away from him on his left side. LCA's runner gets to second and then Josh Rogers hits a groundball that goes right between our third basemen's legs, run scores. We end up losing in extra innings.

I think that Banjo Spangler from Powell went to Union College.

I Also heard that Powell county's catcher went there as well.
