Mason County 46 St. Patrick 40

St. Pat has nothing else to blame for this game except for the 4-17 from the FT line. They should have went to Klee where they had a obvious advantage but St Pat is very much guard oriented. The last word on this game is that I have received alot of greif from St Pat fans for Mason's and Coach Buser not playing any bench in years past. Let me tell you that Coach Douglas would never sub from her first five if it was not for foul trouble. Just remember, the first five is always the best. Congradulations, Lady Royals!!!!!:dancingpa

If you are referring to Klee having an obvious advantage over Queen, I think you are wrong. Queen kept Klee off the boards and had a couple blocks on Klee. If you are referring to Klee having an obvious advantage over K. Menke who guarded Klee when Queen was out of the game, I don't think anything was going to happen there either. The Lady Royals just played a better all round game.

It just shows how things have changed at St. Patrick. A 17 season win season is a disappointment. Don't think you have seen the last of the Lady Saints and Coach Douglas. They have talent coming up too.

I don't think St. Pat deserves this kind treatment they played hard,Just lost to a better team...

Well, a couple of the Saints fans were really whining when Bracken beat them in the Class A--among other things saying that a brother of a BC player shouldn't be keeping clock, etc. etc. It was really classless, since there were no clock issues. Like this game, that loss was more about missed free throws.

But back to the game thread...this was a game of runs in the 2nd half. St. Pat went on one of their vintage runs in the 3rd quarter. It went from a 4-point MC lead to a 9-point SP lead in what seemed like the blink of an eye. Keller Menke's 3-point-play to close the 3rd was huge. Mason came out in the 4th quarter and had a run of their own, led by the Menke girls.

Congrats to Mason on the win, and also to St. Pat on a fine season. The Lady Saints have been a fun team to watch. And for the Payne sisters & Klee, congrats on a very nice basketball career. :thumb:

St Pat had their best matchup with Klee in the middle. In the second half they did try to go to her a few times but Keller Menke and Queen did do a good job and then St Pat went back to the perimeter game. If they would have kept pounding the ball inside, Queen would have gotten in foul trouble.

Congrats Mason Co. Lady Royals and there coaching staff on a very good win. The game was very intense and the Royals win was well deserved. Congrats also to our Lady Saint Seniors and coaching staff who in the last couple of years have made the Lady Saints significant. Significant to the fact that much larger schools really enjoy knocking us off. Good Luck to both Mason and Bracken Counties in the 39th district championship game.
