Ludlow's Mr Clary is leaving his spot at the scorer's table where he's been for 50 years. I got to meet him last year and he's a fine man. He will be missed.

I saw that in the paper this morning. I cant believe he has been doing it 50 yrs.

I have know Mr. Clary "Benny" since I was six or seven years of age.

 

I never got the privilege to play for Mr. Clary many baseball teams but played more games that I can remember against him.

 

He was quick to congratulate you or even give you a pat on the back even though he coached against you whether you beat his team or not.

 

If anyone wants to know who to model themselves as a coach, scorekeeper or all around outstanding human being, look no farther than Ludlow's, Kentucky Mr Benny Clary.

 

Thank you Mr. Clary, for the many things you did for the kids of Ludlow and how you personally treated me and all my friends who played against you for so many years!

I'll have pictures from last night's festivities for Benny up later tonight. We will also have video of the game too. A great night for Benny. We've only known him for a short time, but to consider the lives he's touched in 50 years at Ludlow is tremendous.

 

Thought it was very nice of the 9th Region Officials to also present him with a plaque last night as well. Very classy.

Truly someone who will be missed around Northern Ky sports. I can also remember seeing Benny working the Bengal's and Red's games over the years. He always seemed to know and recognize you if you spoke to him.

 

 

 

 

Every time I run into Benny he treats me as if he knew me all his life. I met him around 15 years ago. What a guy! Gallatin Co. salutes you!

What a great man!!! I met him about 15 years ago at a Reds game. Every time I see him he makes me feel so good and like I am really an important person to him. Gary Huhn has been doing the book at Holmes for as long as I can remember.

Congratulations to Benny Clary on your retirement from the scorer's table at Ludlow, your favorite venue.

 

Benny not only serves at Ludlow, but also was the official scorer throughout the Shields era and beyond at NKU, and is a regular ticket-taker at many public venues in Greater Cincinnati.

 

In all of the years that I've known Benny I've never known him to ever be in a bad mood, of not quick with a chuckle.

 

One of the really good guys in the business.
