During the next time out I saw the ref ask the other if he blew his whistle. From my perspective mind you because some of this is speculation.

 

We couldn't figure that one out either. Looked to me like there was a hold, then a charge. Jump ball was the ultimate call.

Possible scenario based on what you saw: one ref goes with the charge, one goes with the block, we end up with the dreaded blarge, fouls charged to both players. If so and the shot didn't go in you go to the AP.

As I said in my post, #24 Heimbrock had a great night playing the "D" and went nose to nose with the MC guys and never backed down all night long!

Nobody wants to see 9th region basketball, unless it is Holmes. It's just a fact and tradition. Most people in this area are more familiar with and would rather watch the Lexington,Louisville or even the 'mountain schools' before they would Northern Kentucky schools. I wouldn't walk next door to The Fieldhouse to watch Mason County play Highlands,CovCath, Boone County,etc. and as you can tell most people agree. This is a Lexington-Herald area, not a Cincinnati Enquier area.:thumb:

That's how I remember it, yes. Whistle, player control foul called on Pawsat, officials huddle for between 30-60 seconds, jump ball called, alternating pssession to CovCath. Theoldguy or paNDA (or one of the Mason County guys such as sumo) can tell you if this is correct.

Is he looking for a faster pace or more scoring? My quick perusal shows that Mason Co is only scoring about 2 or 3 more points per game than CCH. So, is it a style issue?

There wasn't that big of a crowd on hand for the Mason Co/Holmes game earlier in the year either. Maybe the MC faithful just aren't coming out this year? I seem to remember their attendances being questioned last year as well.

 

Again, 2 years ago this match uwould've drew a pretty nice size crowd and had the lower bowl of MC full and had fans scattered across the top.
