Great game. CovCath misses the front end with a 2 point lead. Coopper hits a 3 from the cornter, almost blocked on the run by Fredrick. CovCath turns the ball over at mid court with about 9 seconds left, cooper goes back and misses three layups in a row, but they had a one point lead and time expired.

Should be pretty good games all the way around today.

 

I think there are no clear cut favorites and each team could pull out a win.

 

Birds will have a shootaround this afternoon and hopefully show up tonight against a very athletic Holmes team.

Holmes has the athleticism to win this tournament and they played with great discipline yesterday against the Birds. They knocked down shots overtop of the zone and were paitent against the man-man running their motion offense. Peterson and Englemon can leap and if they play hard then its theirs to lose.

 

Scott on the other hand throws several players at you and any given player can get hot and beat you. Jackson is solid on the block and Jehn/Felts/Pouncy are solid at the guard positions. Clary comes off the bench along with Buckner to provide solid backups.

 

Not discounting Cooper or SK but from what I have seen these are my picks.

Scott is very deep playing 8 to 10 kids.

 

It's always nice to see programs developing their younger players. A lot

of the coaches on the freshmen and JV level get caught up in trying to win every game instead of seeing the big picture.

"W" that at the moment it is up in the air (was to be played the 15th) but with the snow and missed school days, not really sure when now!

 

When will most of the school return? Not sure but my guess is it won't be until Wednesday/Thursday at the earliest, as this much snow isn't going anywhere soon at all.
