The Who/Superbowl halftime show

Featured Replies

I heard that Pete had Rotator Cuff surgery today. He overdid the number of tilt-a-whirl strums! Just not young anymore!

Maybe it was me but I could have sworn Pete forgot the words to a couple of songs.

While there is stuff coming from my son's ipod that could never make it on a halftime show, there is some stuff that I like, surprisingly. I don't know who it is but I am requesting a download transfer.

First off I'd like to say I don't mind the Who and the performance they put on. I like some of their music and I agree that they influenced rock music tremendously. But who is anyone to say that music today is crap? It's MUSIC. Music is by definition, an artistic form of auditory communication incorporating instrumental or vocal tones in a structured and continuous manner. Just because it doesn't fit someone's style, or favorite genre, or morals, doesn't mean it's not music. If it wasn't any good, why do you think they're selling more albums than any rock group today? It IS and age thing. I understand I'm talking with a crowd that will most definitely disagree with me, but I know if I sat here and typed how much crap The Who or AC/DC or the Beatles or Guns N Roses or the Eagles and so on was, I'd be getting torn to shreads.

I'm off of my soap box.

The Who did just fine, much better than crap like Justin Timberlake or some of the lame acts of today.

For a couple of Geezers who are elderly like me:thumb: "The Who " were fantastic ! I just wished that they could have preformed some of their songs like "Baba O 'Reilly and "Who are You " all the way through . If'n you don't like " The Who " you don't appreciate good Rock and Roll .

I was glad to see the Who considering the last time I saw them live was at their "final" tour in the mid 80's at Rupp.

Maybe one of the reasons they have the older groups play is because they are about the music and are not trying to shock the crowd with some "wardrobe malfunction". Younger artists are about wearing little to nothing and trying to see what they can get away with. Don't get me wrong, I like hip hop and pop music, but when you see them preform or watch their videos it's all booty shakin and sex. Every Beyonce video I have seen lately is the same thing, her scantily clad in 6 inch heels shakin her money maker with a couple girls behind her doing the same. How un-original. Kayne was wrong about her videos! They aren't the best.

Lady gaga and pink are recent good examples of this.

Maybe the Super Bowl doesn't want another Janet Jackson and JT fiasco and they trust the older acts not to pull a stunt like that.

If you'rte referring to me, I said some of the lame acts of today and acts like Justin Timberlake were crap, not all music of today.

And for the record, IMO, Guns N Roses IS crap because of the horrid excuse of a singer they had.

I almost changed it during 'Pinball Wizard' because it was absolutely pathetic but I thought the rest of the show was fine.
